Can someone with a 1920 on SAT and a 3.68 GPA in the IB program and captain of the wrestling team for 1 year get into UCLA? Perhaps an Eagle Scout too?

Hun, I think that's not enough. What are your voluntary hours? Did you write your admission essay yet? Have you explored the campus and got acquainted to the counselors there?

It's not for me it's for my boyfriend :P I think he has maybe 120 Volunteer hours? He's in IB though, he's a junior. He got Straight As in Freshman and Sophomore year but Straight Bs Junior year and I heard that UCs don't look at Freshman year.

Your freshman year doesn't count towards your GPA upon applying. They only count your grades sophomore and junior year. You really can't determine if he's going to get in or not.. The only thing I can confirm for you is that he meet the requirements that makes you eligible to apply.

They want to see "improvement"; they'd rather see grades going from B's to A's than the other way around. I think that right there might hurt him...unless the rest of his materials are just "glowing"...idk. Oh, I'm looking at your picture under here and the other are right: you two look BEAUTIFUL together! Such a handsome couple!! That's nice to see:] |
