My state calls it soda, and so do I. It sound really strange to hear people say "pop". It always make me think of something going pop rather than a drink.

I thought calling it "soda" was an American thing.
I say "pop". I call it "Coke" when it's actually a Coke. |

I call it soda & so does my state. Whenever someone says "pop" I think of the 1950s.

I call it pop. When someone says "soda" I think of a soda fountain a la 1950s Archie comics.

Wow, that's pretty interesting that northern America (and I guess Canada haha) call it "pop", while the south calls it either "soda" or "Coke". Hmm.

i call it soda. i'm from Arizona, if that matters. i don't like it when people call all sodas coke. it's not frickin coke. I'm a "soda" person as well. I've only lived in the south for about a year and a half (well, actually, heading towards two) but I was told almost immediately that "it's coke here." I still can't wrap my mind around calling all dark, carbonated beverages "coke." |
