If he doesn't, that song has the potential to be instantly classic.

Are you f*cking stupid? Paramore DOMINATES Katy Perry. Your music taste is HORRIBLE! How is she "f*ucking stupid" because she doesn't like Paramore? I hate Paramore, but my tastes aren't horrible. I don't like Katy Perry, but if I had to choose, I'd go for Katy. Do the songs have to be from this year or that I HEARD this year? Best: "Sunrise, sunset" - Bright Eyes. Worst: Anything by Fall Out Boy... |

Kanye West - Love Lockdown
Kanye West - See You in My Knightmares John Legend - It's Over (f/ Kanye West) Q-Tip - We Fight/We Love (f/ Raphael Saadiq) Q-Tip - Believe (f/ D'Angelo) Rick Ro$$ - Luxury Tax (f/ Lil' Wayne, Trick Daddy & Young Jeezy) Kidz in the Hall - Middle of the Map, Pt. 2 (f/ Black Milk & Guilty Simpson) Atmosphere - Yesterday Lil' Wayne - A Milli (to include a host of freestyles by other artists on the same beat. F'Real. Jay-Z and Asher Roth, FTW) T.I. - I'm Illy T-Pain - Chopped N Skrewed (f/ Ludacris) T-Pain - Change (f/ Akon, Mary J. Blige & Diddy) T-Pain - Karaoke (f/ DJ Khaled) [So, yea, even though DJ Khaled annoys me, this is a hot track. As a matter of fact, one of the hardest songs to come out all year may have been dropped by an r&b singer who relies heavily on autotune.] |

"Love Lockdown" by Akon has to be one of the worst in my opinion. I seriously can't stand that song
"Womanizer" wasn't the best song either. Neither was anything by Miley Cyrus. "When I Grow Up" is pretty low on my list also. As is "Take a Bow", "Low", and "Lollipop" Best...uh not really sure. My favorite currently is "Gives You Hell" by All-American Rejects. I also really liked the new Coldplay stuff like "Viva la Vida" and "Violet Hill". "Human" by the Killers was good, and I actually liked "Let It Rock" by Kevin Rudolf. 'Cept the part with Lil' Wayne. I could've lived without that part. |

^Fail. Just because you don't like a song doesn't make it a bad song.
kanYe West dropped 'LL,' not Akon. |

^Fail. Just because you don't like a song doesn't make it a bad song. kanYe West dropped 'LL,' not Akon. Whoops. That's what I meant. Haha XD And isn't this about what you think are the best and worst songs of the year? If you don't like a song then you obliviously don't think that it was the best song of the year. SO, point being, I did not fail. |

Not quite. You're in a discussion about music. I didn't care for G-Unit's T.O.S. because the whole image of 'gangsta' in hiphop is greatly flawed in this day and age. That isn't to say that the tracks didn't seamlessly blend from one to the other or that the production wasn't absolutely stellar. It didn't sell, and it isn't publicly appealing. There's a mass hatred against all things G-Unit, but the LP was on point. It's all in how you look at music.
808s & Heartbreak, love it or hate it, is easily the best album of the year. That doesn't mean you have to bump it 24/7 or even like kanYe West as an artist. But simply 'not-liking' a given track doesn't make it bad. Did I lose you? |

^You didn't lose me, and in fact I think you make a very good point.
But the point I'm trying to make is that chances are that if you don't like a song then there must be a reason why you don't think it's a very good song. There has to be something wrong with it that other people would find unappealing also. I also understand that many people would not think songs I like are some of the best songs of the year. I think it all falls down to taste. Some of the reasons the songs I didn't like this year were personally the worst for me were because of various reasons such as lyrical value, beat, tempo, etc., etc. |

Favorable:
808s and Heartbreaks. Obviously an album with meaning.. and well, thank goodness Kanye came through trying something new, it's not always possible. Viva La Vida. Did I miss it in this topic or was it not mentioned by anyone? This is a duh for me. Paper Trail. Nothing too epic, but at least I know T.I. is still worth listening to. Vampire Weekend. Finally something un-mainstream. Or at least for now. Arguably one of the best albums of 08, tops well on most critics' charts. I loved this. Lovedddddd. 'Make It Mine' and 'I'm Yours' by Jason Mraz. The second one's overplayed but it's still great. Unfavorable: Cute is What We Aim For was epic fail with the new album. They sold out. Um, other than that I really don't have a lot of unfavorables, I actually grow a liking to stuff most of the time. |
