My computer keeps randomly shutting down. At first I figured it was an overheating thing, but it's in a completely open space on it's side with a fan running on it and it still does it.
I ran malwearbytes and it came up clean. I was told to run a registry cleaner but before it can finish the scan my computer will shut off. It'll shut off almost instantly if I start up in safe mode. It's seems as long as I am not doing anything significant it's fine. I haven't tried opening anything other than the internet and the registry cleaner though. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu- |

Could it be a problem with the hard drive? When you listen to the tower, does it make weird noises? My hard drive went bust on me the other day and all I could hear before it kept shutting down and BSOD'ing were intense whirring noises + guttural dying sounds. hahah

Nope. It doesn't make any sounds at all. Just turns off.
I got CClener to finish the registry scan, It didn't make any difference though.I was thinking maybe it has something to do with the power supply? |

lmao. yeah I know, it's pretty embarrassing. But I am too cheap to get a new one. Not yet at least. I'd rather replace parts than to get a new one. but I don't know what the f*ck to buy.

that 103C could be the problem, or it may just be a broken or null sensor like on 3. either way get some air dusters and blow it out, it can't hurt to clean it out. also your +12V readings are pretty nasty, but nothing out of reason. Still, it may very well be a power supply issue. |

I'm saving for an imac, but it's going to be more than a few months before I'll have enough. Hopefully it will hold out long enough lol

And thanks, CJ. |

the only definite way to get rid of a power supply problem is to replace the entire unit (you can open it up and replace bits yourself if you feel so inclined, but I can't be held responsible if you die), but you may end up just ruling out a power supply issue.
also what processor is it? that vcore is nasty for some chips too. series would be enough but if you can give model (maybe even stepping) too that would be even better |

Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 3.00GHz.
The stepping is on the physical CPU right? |

Take it outside and blow out the dust. And make sure it has proper ventilation at the back. Also few tips for buying from apple. Refurbished items are in perfect condition and have been totally reset and inspected for problems. I would definitely buy refurbished. If you want to buy new then use a student discount and just pick any college. You'll get 10% off and they don't check to see if you're telling the truth. I've gotten two macbook pros like that.
Also you can buy insurance if you want, but even if you didn't and somethings broken the people at the apple store are so nice. Few examples. Brother bought a macbook pro, and 3 months later a new one came out, so he called and complained and they just said "oh I'm sorry, we can trade in your laptop for the new model if you want? Or we can just send you 300 dollars." |

I had just dusted it not too long ago so I really don't think that is the issue, I'll get another can and try but I am 90% sure that's not it. and it's completely in the open.
I planed to get refurbished since I am trying to get it as cheap as I can lol |
