Exept the itouch is 8.4 mm in depth, the iphone is 12.33 mm in depth. The camera on the ipod nano is 5.5 mm in depth and there still needs to be space for the main boards and battery pack.
The only way the ipod touch is gonna have a camera, is if they taper the bottom edge and allow for the top to have more depth than the bottom. Or for them to put a half size smaller camera in. Which would possibly end up costing a couple hundred more dollars for the consumer. |

They are going to add the Camera feature on it, and most likely it will have the recording feature too. if not, then just jailbreak it(Which most likely people are going to do right away). |

I definitely agree with Jon, one slight setback though. If an iPod Touch can make calls, send text, surf the web, and are compatible to iPhones in terms of apps and jail breaking, how come Apple hasn't stepped up to the plate with the iPod Touch? If Apple wanted to give the camera to the Touch, then the company should have done so long time ago. It's funny how the iTouch is almost near the same level as it's phone cousin, but I think Apple wants nothing to do with a picture taking camera for the iPod touch. I don't know if it would help the iPod Touches for people who just want to have fun, but it could also hurt Apple's and AT&T's iPhone business if a high amount of customers purchase the newest iPod touch. My guess is that Apple will do the same thing they did to the Nano. They will probably add a video recorder or some sort for the next iPod touch. Of course with the added features, the iPod touch will be able to record moments, but it won't capture moments into a still picture. As much as I want a 2.0 megapixel camera for the iTouch, i don't see it happening in the next release. ( I think if the iTouch did come with a camera, it should have lower megapixel settings compared to the iPhone. ) |

QUOTE Who Invented the First Digital Camera?
Kodak was there first... Enthusiastic Apple geeks (i.e., almost all Mac users) might tell you Apple sold the first mass-market digital camera. They are technically correct, but Steve Jobs certainly didn't make the first digital camera. Kodak engineer Steve Sasson is typically credited with inventing the first digital camera, albeit with the help of Bing Crosby and astronauts. CODE if($kodak == 1 && $apple > 1) { echo 'Apple is greater than Kodak.'; } By rule of logic: being the first certainly doesn't make you the best. CODE // $nano = weight of Apple iPod Nano // $sd1200_is = weight of Canon SD1200 IS (smallest Canon camera) if($nano == 1.28 && $sd1200_is == 4.16) { echo 'Canon products take much better pictures than Apple products.'; } By rule of not-so-logic: why the hell would I want a camera in my iPod? It's for listening to music, not taking grainy pictures that look like I dragged film from the 1860s through the sand. Give me more room for music, not extra "features." |

imo Apple should have stuck to hardware. Get out of software.

Plus Apple makes all its money from hardware; and the whole reason people buy the hardware is for the great software. Remove Apple's software from the equation, and you have computers that are more or less equal to other similarly-classed machines.
(Of course, some Apple hardware is nice -- for example, the LED screen on my MacBook Pro is amazing and nicer than anything I've seen on PC laptops -- but overall, Apple hardware isn't that dissimilar to similarly-classed machines released by PC manufacturers.) |

^Wrong. I think if OSX were just another distro, it would do extremely well because it isn't a distro designed to work with 512 mb of Ram, and it is very featureful.

i think if Apple and Microsoft stop this type of war on computers and team up to make a new computer, this would be awesome. too bad that day will never come until Apocalypse reaches us.

it's because people want companies to spontaneously stop evolving and making new products the second they spend money on something. before that point they couldn't care less. whatever they buy is gonna be new and innovative, but once they buy it, they don't wanna see anything change unless it's on a convenient time line for them.
