I can't f*cking wait for the NFL to start up again. A bunch of teams I want to see how shit turns out. Doing fantasy football this year, too. Unfortunately I'm joining an established league and all the good QBs are taken :( Wish I could get Aaron Rodgers but my bitchass brother already has him :(
Regardless. Teams to watch out for: Obviously teams like the colts / saints Packers Jets Possibly Bengals Lolteams: Cowboys Dolphins Bucs |

Not their biggest fan, don't hate them though. I just don't care for them that much.

Green Bay Packers. Got Aaron Rodgers beasting shit. Second best defense in the league after well, the Jets. Both the Jets & Packers picked up some nice defense during the off season too so I can only see them both holding on. The Packers have an amazing passing game, though. The first half of the season half of the Packer line was hurt and they went 4-4. Healthy they go 7-1. I'd say they're a pretty decent team :] Also my dad's side of the family is from Wisconsin (Mom's from NY).

What about you though, JC? Did you watch much NFL last season or was it more casual? My whole family is a football family so we're always all over Sunday/Monday night football. Almost all our family friends are big football families, all involved in the same FF league. I could probably safely say JC : Basketball :: Hamrens : Football
But yeah,w hat about you? Bigggg Jets fan or fan primarily b/c of the fact that you live in NY? Also random - Kevin Kolb (new Eagles QB) was a University of Houston QB. Hope he does well. |

primarily because of NY. i wouldn't even say i'm a fan because i haven't watched enough to really know how i feel about anything. it's extremely casual. i will watch when it's on and there's nothing else to watch or when someone else is watching. i hope to make more effort to watch this season and get into it. since i never watch consistently then i never get into rivalry/players/etc, all the stuff that goes with "following" a sport and ultimately makes it fun to watch.
doubt that i will ever follow football/baseball/tennis/other sports i casually try to keep up with to the level i do basketball though. i think it's too ingrained in my everyday life/family life, the same way you describe football is for your family. |

this is the first time i've even bothered to really watch preseason but i've already decided this shit is too long. 4 weeks of preseason? why? i don't get it. two, ok i can deal with two. i don't get why we need 4. seems like too much to me.

football players do nothing basically. they play once a week and even then, they just stand around most of the time. they should play more or get paid a lot less.

lol nfl players get paid a lot less. also try playing a game of football. I've played football and basketball and a game of football is a lot more taxing. i'm not shortchanging basketball players, but they have rules against fouling and a lot of stuff to protect themselves. football players have a lot more variety and range in the sizes / playstyles / contact / etc.

Basketball is nowhere near as tiring as football. The line of scrimmage is basically several sumo wrestling matches occurring simultaneously. On every. single. play.
