post a link, or a picture of the layout.

i'm trying to gain some ideas, and i think the best way is to
see what everybody's favorite layout is. or what layout gave you
inspiration from CB?

^ There are thousands of layouts on CB, those ARE the ones that interest me the most. I like them not for one specific thing they all share in common, because for the most part they are completely different. I can't pick one favourite because I love them all for completely different reasons.

You said you wanted ideas, not a fantastic layout to copy.

What's it matter what kind of layout we like? We're all going to like different things. It should be about what you like, what you want to focus on and improve upon. Some people are going to like it, others are going to hate it. Just roll with it and after you've done a few, then take critiques into consideration. User feedback doesn't work if you don't make something first.

I like really clean layouts.

I focus more on optimized code when I design than on beauty, really.

Ditto. I like the focus to be on content, not glitz.

I also like simplicity as well like the other people have stated here, but I do have a love for more complex layouts. I am very picky, however.

Simple layouts are great for formal sites and good on the eyes for practically everyone. Should the layout be complex and "messy", it should be extremely original and still coordinate great as a whole. However, the more complex/messy layouts are best for personal use and never for a company or anything formal.

I tend to create "messier" types of layout just because I enjoy doing so. But in these cases, the focus is barely ever on the content which isn't really a good thing--- it depends on what you like. Most people prefer the focus to be on the content, hence they like a simple layout.

I don't have any personal favorites and I don't favorite layouts often so I can't really show what kind I like. But they are mostly designs by people like fainaru or Alx and lots of designers here and there.
