just like a thought you know?
like i make brush packs for my website for people to come and download. i think createblog already is super popular but it might double or even triple if you put in a brushes category up there with the graphics, scripts and etc. you know?? i was just wondering what the designers thought and if there was anyone else who makes brushes? |

I think she's saying that we offer it for people to download straight from the site, sort of like how we offer layouts and graphics.
I think it's a decent idea. |

I really like the idea, actually. It could probably just be added to the graphics section. We have downloadable smiley sets, why not have brushes?

Moved to Feedback.
I think that it's an ok idea. I'm sure that there are reasons as to why they are not already offered on the site, but I don't know those reasons, Haha. |

I remember this came up a long time ago. I believe that one of the issues with this was how much space these things would take up.
WAIT. CANCEL THAT. This was my idea. I had the idea for a Graphics Resources subforum. Yeah. I posted a lot of my stuff there and a couple of other people did. We just had a deviantArt account and everything was going to be uploaded there. Yeah. It bombed. Terribly. But that was a long time ago... However. New people are here, and this time it might...work. |

A while back we use to actually have a section where people would upload their image packs, brushes, fonts, etc to deviantart and then they would leave a preview of the pack and a link to download it at. I don't actually know where this went because when cB was deleted and all.
But I don't know if we could actually have brush packs and stuff, maybe images of all the brushes or whatever and people would have to crop them out and make the brushes themselves. In which we already have a topic similar to this. |

I think it got deleted after the...Incident.
Why not have the packs? If we had one person for each Photoshop, PSP and possibly GIMP, we can make translatable versions of everything posted that way everyone can get what they want. Or if worse comes to worst, they can make their own brushes out of the Image Packs, but I always found that to be a pain. |

As I said backstage about this idea, the amount of space and bandwidth it would put on this site I don't know if it would really fly with Jusun. Also something like this could take a while as well to set up at the rate Jusun is going.
I think the best thing to do, is possibly have a section (sub-forum) in the resource center and we can put teh Big Book of Resources, and the font and image packs in there as well. And everyone can just make a topic of the items they would like to contribute. So you would take what you wanted to contribute and upload it to your site or deviantart, make a topic here, and then in the post, put up a little preview and a download link. We can make it so the mods can moderate them and accept or reject them (like we had the createblog layouts set up on the forum.) |

See the thing is people will actually have to make the brushes themselves. Things like codes and tutorials are easily stolen/paraphrased/what have you like they are on this site, but it's harder to take credit for a brush that you didn't make.

Idk, I think there are a good number of people here that CAN make brushes. They're really not that hard - in fact, a lot of brushes are evolved from photoshop originals.
If we made brush packs available, I've made a few that I'd put up. :D |

Making the brushes is truly one of the easiest things ever.
What I had wanted to do before was make ONE dA account, and give out the UN/PW to exclusive people who would to post. If someone wanted access to it, then okay, but also we can have all of them together in one account, just for convenience and if something were to go wrong... But pretty much the last paragraph of Holly's post is how it was...and it worked out fine... |

I really like the idea, actually. It could probably just be added to the graphics section. We have downloadable smiley sets, why not have brushes? I second that. I think it'd be a great idea since we have a bunch of designers who may or may not be looking for some new brushes, either way, it wouldn't hurt. QUOTE So you would take what you wanted to contribute and upload it to your site or deviantart, make a topic here, and then in the post, put up a little preview and a download link. We can make it so the mods can moderate them and accept or reject them (like we had the createblog layouts set up on the forum.) Another brilliant idea! it saves the trouble for us lazy folk and I'm sure it'll bring a lot more designers to the site.
