So, what are your thoughts on the Verizon Strike. What do you think is going to happen?
Personally, I believe times are tough, and in order for Verizon to become a more profitable & competitive company it needs to shed the union workers. Especially in the stagnant land-line business. I think it's going to happen too. I believe many companies are looking to shed union workers as their more expensive than their non-union counter parts. Verizon is just beating the rest of the larger corporations in America to the punch. |

I think it's going to happen too. Emphasis on more. Verizon is one of the most profitable telecom companies. Its revenue last year was $4.65 billion, and its on pace to triple that this year. In fact, its performance is outpacing the telecom industry as a whole. The CEO earns $18 million, a 4% increase in salary over last year. |
