Hi I am trying to transfer one object of an image to another one. My usual way of doing it for example, I am using a pic of me at the park and trying to take me out then transfer me to another image. I usually use the magic wand tool, select me, then I click the quick mask mode, and use the paint brush to select the parts that haven't been selected.
Before I continue to use this process for the rest of my projects, does anyone use a simpler way to select specific images out of one image then transfer them to others? |

I just use the Quick Selection Tool (W). Easier, imo.

*opens up ps & checks*
Well the Quick Selection Tool & the Magic Wand Tool can both be accessed by pressing "W." So I guess we're both right ![]() |

I'm pretty sure the quick selection tool is the same as the magic wand lol. If pressing W is the only way to access the same tool, then they are the same. Just different names. |

The pen tool or the polygonal lasso tool work, and although they're probably not the easiest methods, they're often cleaner than just using the magic wand tool.

Using things like the magic wand usually gets the image but they quality isn't as good. The polygonal lasso tool is what I use and my pics usually turn out a lot cleaner. (just zoom in really close for the best results) |

I guess I go the complicated route and use the pen tool. Once my path is complete, then I right click and hit "Make Selection". I find that I get cleaner edges and everything using the pen tool versus the wands and lassos.

I felt at the time that the wand was simpler because I just click on the image, then I click on the quick edit mode and then use the paint brush to paint out more of the selection. But now that I thought about it, the pen tool allows me a more precise selection. Takes a hell of a longer time, but it works lol. Thanks for reminding me. |

I do that too! :] It's easier for me because I mess up a lot, and rather than having to redo the entire section (if I use the polygonal lasso tool), I can just hit ctr+z and redo the point. |

If you mess about with the colour of the image using Image > Adjustments that can sometimes make it easier to select part of the image using the magic wand.
