My main school I'm going to be applying to is.. Johns Hopkins Early Decision. The other school I'm going to be applying too but I want to know my chances at it.
GPA: Freshman through Senior: 3.7 Sophomore through Senior: 3.89 (Sophomore through Senior 1st Semester) Weighted: Freshman - Senior 1st Semester: 3.98 Fresh - Senior 2nd Sem: 4.07 Sophomore - Senior 1st Semester: 4.24 Soph - Senior 2nd Sem: 4.32 APs 4 or 5 APs 4s and 5s on all exams. 5 or 6 APs. AP Chem, AP/AB Calc, AP/BC Calc, Chinese 4 AP, AP Econ/Civics, Eng 4 AP, AP Bio or AP Stats Sports: 3 Years of Varsity Tennis Tae Kwon Do for 4 years Dragon Boating 2 years. Volunteer: PVHMC Hospital 150+ Hours Acupuncture Chiropractic Center 10+ Hours Clubs: Environmental Care Global Awareness: Cabinet M4P (Meds for Poverty): President CSF: 3 semesters Science Olympiad: 1 Year SAT I: 2110 Math: 800 CR: 560 Writing: 750 SAT II: Chinese: 800 Math 2C: 800 Chemistry: 750 Extra Curricular Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center Student Board of Directors Varsity Tennis School Orchestra: Violin: 6 Years Been in School's Advanced Orchaestra for 2 Years Dragon Boating 2 Years Pros - I’m going to apply Early Decision for Johns Hopkins. - Awesome Public Speaker. - Decent Essay - Mind blowing Teacher Recommendations - Haven't done anything horrible that would get me sent up to the office for 2 years. Cons - Caught Cheating Twice Sophomore Year - Freshman Year is.. Horrible. 3 Cs A lot of Bs. Couple As. - C+ First Semester of Sophomore Year of Pre Calc A+ 2nd Semester - Took all Regular Classes Freshman Year - The only think I have for all 4 years is Tennis. - I'm probably going to get either a mediocre or a horrible counselor recommendation. I know, I was stupid for Cheating. I'm planning on being a Pre-Med so I'm probably going to major in Chem or Bio. Or even better! BioChem! Not sure yet though :T I've taken a Science Class every year throughout High School. So Here's basically my story. I started out as a horrible student. Freshman year totally kicked my ass. I was caught Cheating Sophomore year but I got decent grades. Atleast 2nd semester. 1st semester was still kind of a transition from horrible student to A+ Student. 1C 1B 5 As. 2nd Semester of Sophomore year and beyond, Straight As. My Counselor Recommendation isn't going to be great. I know my Teacher Recommendations (Chem Teacher, Math Teacher) are going to be awesome. Basically I went from an Asian Fail... to a Straight A Student. I'm afraid Freshman Year's going to affect colleges' decisions though. Can someone update me on the UC Teacher/Counselor Recommendations by the way? Do they get information from your counselors at all regarding the student's attitude? Or just Transcript? |

wow, you have a great high school resume, lol. i think that your achievements and extracurricular activities will help you a lot.
if your essay or w.e. is great and truly shows how determined you are, i think its possible that they'll look passed your cons. i'm just curious, if you graduated this past year, shouldn't you have already applied to colleges? or am i just stupid? cause' im an incoming junior and still quite ill-informed(i couldn't find the right word to use, haha) when it comes to colleges. |

Lol I'm an incoming Junior. This is just what I'll have end of Senior Year. All my Extra Curriculars are as of right now though. :P I'm afraid they'll take my "academic dishonesty" and shove it up me hole. =[

Idk. And ugh, im worried about the SAT's /: I don't think im naturally smart or book smart. I just work hard and study. That's why i get the grades i get. Well, im not stupid, &i guess the SAT's will show me how stupid i am, haha. I'm looking for a place to take SAT prep, but haven't found any just yet /: |

lol where do you live? If you live in SoCal, you should go to ACI or ELITE. Those are the best SAT places. over 100 2400s. I wouldn't ask for a teacher recommendation from those 2 teachers. Lol, I'm probably gonna ask from my Chem, Math, AP Chem, and maybe Bio teacher because those associate with my major the most. :P

is your gpa on a 4.0 or a 4.5 scale? my high school was wack - we used a 5.0 scale so... iiii don't understand.
it looks like you have little to no leadership experience. do you have an official resume with specific dates on everything? volunteering is kinda skimpy. and your sat score is kinda :/ what's your rank? hopkins does not give out a lot of money... just btw. i'm not gonna lie though, what you've posted so far would just be mediocre to the top 10, 15% of my school. however, we have the reputation for being total psychos so take my comments with a grain of salt, yeah? st. louis dominated so many people from my year hahaha. waitlisting to the max. |

You dont sound like a definite shoe in for early, but a possibility for regular. Your freshman and sophmore grades are really going to hold you back.
Was it just yelled at in class cheating or disciplinary action? |
