It's not boring unless you understand all of the points Orwell is trying to make. It's a short, fascinating read around the time of Stalin. I'm assuming you know what all of this is.

Boring? f**k that.

I read it in 7th grade, then we read it in class for 8th. Since I'd already read it, I read 1984 instead, which was also fantastic.

It's a great book! Not boring at all but after you're done reading it I'd check out sparknotes to make sure you get all of the symbols and themes. That part might be harder to grasp.

I find it so sad when people don't get these things, because I didn't have the remotest bit of trouble grasping all of the concepts in middle school.

I read it in 8th grade and yea it was a pretty interesting read. Plus, it was pretty short, compared to other books I had to read. I think there was a cartoon too. I remembered watching something... I think it was that. Ack it was 6 years ago >_<"

You know what else was a cool book that I read in 8th grade? The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. I gotta read that again. =X

Not a bad book. Just a authors way of poking fun at communism and Stalin.

I remember I tried to start that in 8th grade, but never got around to it. I read for summer reading before 11th, and though I only really had time to skim it, I read a lot more than I intended to because it was pretty good. Thank god for James doing a third of my summer reading work, lol.

Read it, and it was kinda confusing on where the book was going. When I finished it, I had to sit for a bit and think about what it what it was really getting to. lol.

AMAZING BOOK. There are very few "assigned" readings that I liked in school. This is at the top of the list.

Really makes you think. The pivot point of the book made me cry. =( To the GLUE FACTORY?!?!

If you get past how annoyingly easily the animals fall for everything, then it's a pretty good book. Of course, that's one of the points the author is trying to convey, so it's necessary.

It was required reading for the gifted curriculum in 6th grade. I thought it was a fascinating book, and I'm pretty sure I've read it another five times since.

^yes it did, lol, i dont think it was glue, but i know it was sent away to be killed, :P
&yeeah, me too, it was pretty good[:
partly because it was really short, and easy to understand.
a LOT of symbolism and stuff like that, which you have to
i guess do research on to find the real meaning or everything.
but yeah, it was a good book.
