Yeah, so, I've been trying to get back into more of my graphic design side of things (I've been coding so much these past four months that I've barely done any graphics). Anyhow, I decided I would do something that's pretty relevant to my interests (I do some card tricks from time to time). Thus, I created this.
What I actually really like about this piece, though, is that I didn't use other people's resources (except for Yasny's brushes) and supplied my own. I took a photograph of a wood tile floor at a friends house and edited it so it'd look nice and smooth. Then, I drew a rendition of a playing card (Ace of Spades) and scanned it in and vectored it. After that, I just threw in a few textures, shadows, and whatnot to clean it up and make it look... decent. But yeah, I'm sort of glad I'm starting to really appreciate the process of creating the results rather than the results themselves. Hopefully that's a good thing. Constructive criticism and/or comments would be cool. |

On one of the entries that was in the cbdesigncomp last year, if you're going to repeat something in your image, your case the wood background. make sure that it doesn't look exactly repeated, there is one glaring repetition near the left middle. two pieces that have dark oval like patterns. I'd clear that up. |
