rock is either mindless screaming and yelling, or complaining about teenage problems and angst when they live in f**kin clean white suburbia...lol

rappers of the 90's and 80's were true artists and rapped about REAL problems in the inner-city and the ghetto...nas, tupac, and biggie had true talent, intelligence and life experiences....

RAP = Rhythm And Poetry....stop and listen more to the words instead of the beat....

damn lmao... you just as bad as the dudes sayin rap is crap cause of stereotypes... i am open minded and i see why dudes like rock, in fact i like some rock myself... but you got the right idea about rap, but you just scratching the surface son

I like all kinds. I don't like classic rock, nor punk. I don't really fair for emo either. So, still rock :/.

Why are you guys like for lack of the better word, "bashing" each other's opinions on what they think is a pleasurable genre? People have different tastes. Geez.

actually, there's two kinds of bashing going on.

1. bashing steryotpically
2. bashing those who steryotpically judge a certain genre

as a matter of fact it is. check out artists like copywrite, crooked I, chino XL, c-rayz walz, cormega, common, cage, cunninlynguistics, cnn, canibus, and thats just artists beginning with C.

how can you tell me that one part of a genre is better than another? what music you like is based on your OPINION, not facts. and seeing as i don't like the rap genre as a whole, the underground scene is going to be just as unappealing as the mainstream.

i will admit that rap is at times more catchy then some rock, but i only hear rap when my sister listens to the radio so, yeah.
