Depression

I realise this is probably asking to much. . .but does anyone have any ways to cure or at least help cope with depression that doesn't involve medication, psychiotrists, telephone, or telling anyone? I know that doesn't leave much, but I would really apprieciate some advice. Thanks.

Yourself. You can't get over depression by any other people. The only person that has access to your heart is you, therefore, you are the only person who can break it, therefore you are the only person who can fix it. Some people unconsciously like depression.. And depression doesn't come from any thing outward.. it's usually inside. I used to be depressed for no reason or small reasons.. and I ended up cutting myself. That is NOT the way to get rid of depression, btw. But seriously.. find something that makes you happy. and Don't try to let things depress you.. be optimistic. ^^

Try getting out, doing things that you enjoy. Let yourself know you are loved and appreciated.

Try putting your mind on something else. I find talking to others helps, but, if you don't want to, just like write. Poetry, stories, or draw. Just doodle. Even the smallest things to keep your mind off of it..
^^ and like what she said, only you can cure your depression.

You view your life on how you want to..if you tell yourself your depressed, you will be depressed..its really only you that can change how you feel

if you know you are depressed, try finding within your self WHY. find new creative outlets like drawing, or writing. Use ur xanga. make it only for you. get to know yourself better. u have to want to help yourself. dont be afraid to cry. everyone has their low points...just be honest with yourself and u can see your way thru it!

Listen to music.

Music that describes an experience similar to the one you are currently enduring. Or maybe just something relaxing (i.e. Death Cab for Cutie, Sunday`s Best, Broken Social Scene, etc)

That, or go watch a comedy.

-- One without Adam Sandler as the main character.

Or maybe one without Adam Sandler. Period.

i agree...only u can change ur self...listening to music makes me feel better...sometimes i write poems... i used to be depressed too..but i talked to ppl and things kinda got better for me...so ya..hope u feel better...

Well, first you need to realize that if you are in a deep depression it's pretty much impossible to do without telling anybody. One of the most common reasons that people are in depression in the first place is because they are lonely. This might not be the case with you. You definitley need to find some sort of release where you can open up and not keep everything inside...try keeping a diary or a blog where nobody can read it because then you can write anything that you want without having to think about who is going to read it and what they are going to think. If this doesn't work, please try to get some help. That doesn't mean that you need to to go a psychiatrist or even your parents...a few good friends can be a big help.

writing entries. yes yes it's basically a diary. at first you will feel the same and tiring and if you odnt have time. but after awhile go back and read ur entries. is your life that horrible? what is there that you can apreciate?

o yeah and my answer is i just pray. read the bible.

sing loudly in your room with the music blasting. dosent matter f your off-key dosent matter if your a bad singer. open the blinds at night so in the morning you feel more better with the sunlight through the blinds. or you can go take a 10 minute job everyday to relax yourmind of all problems... i do that eveyday =) and force yourself to laugh smile or even chuckle _smile.gif
