I was at my friend's xanga just earlier and found this post about Bush banning Anime forever from the United States of America. Some moron who disguised his/her name as "The Undersigned" as written a letter to the President demanding him to BAN ANIME FROM THE STATES. Here's the letter:

QUOTE
To: George Bush

Here in America, we live in a climate of moral decay. What is the cause of this? It is called "anime". Anime is a perverse, evil, insiduous form of animation from the dark land of Japan, and is corrupting America's youth at unprecedented rates. Here are a few examples of anime which are circulating on the Internet and may very well be in your home:

1) Ah My Goddess: A sick and disgusting show which causes children under the age of 18 to think they are capable of love. The main female character is clearly under 18, and is forced into a romantic relationship by an older man who "wishes" for her to be his girlfriend forever. He even KISSES her, and she appears NAKED. That poor girl must be so confused.

2) Love Hina: I'm not even going to mention the unspeakable, disgusting, pedophilic, pornograhpic events which transpire during this show, but suffice it to say, groups of young men on Love Hina-fueled rampages are raping children at a level unheard of since the 60s.

If you are a parent or a decent human being, I urge you to sign this petition to ban all forms of anime in the United States. Anyone who is found in possesion of anime should be arrested and jailed for an exhorbant period of time. Anime is a dark scourge upon our beautiful nation, and we don't need this Japanese filth corrupting the hearts of the children.

As a resonsible Christian, I demand to see this garbage removed from our nation. Please sign this petition and send it to George Bush, your Congressman, and the makers/distributors of anime filth and depravity.

Do the right thing.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

You all love Anime, right? And want to watch it forever in your local USA stations? If so, please save it!!! SIGN THE PETITION....

Sign the Petition

that's a good point. bush has ruined freedom of speech during the inaguration by not showing them in the camera.

I hope Bush is smart enough to disagree. Besides, Congress have to put it into a bill, the bill goes to Bush, THEN Bush signs it. But Congress won't go with that person.

well, first off...I'd like to say that even if George W. Bush banned anime from the states, it honestly won't make a difference to me because 90% of all the anime I get are downloaded off the net, 80% of the 90 NOT being from animesuki.com or any license-obsessive torrent sites.

Secondly, I'm also a Christian, and I believe that the person who wrote that letter is completely out of his or her mind. Sure, Love Hina and such may offend some, but overall it's a good show. Honestly, can you really compare Love Hina with something like...Grand Theft Auto? South Park? Haha, that's a no brainer.

The dark land of Japan? Not a Christian, but a lunatic racist who's got way too much time on his or her hand. Please, if its the last thing Bush needs to take care of, it's anime.

However, one thing remains true: There are lots of parents that really are trying to ban or severely restrict anime within the states, and I hope that someday these grown-ups will come to realize that what they are demanding is absolutely retarded.

Fin.

Dark land of Japan??? Right....

That person, Undersigned, must not know that the country's best selling brand of cars are from Japan. Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, and many more are from Japan. That idiot. From the dark land of Japan. Besides, Bush wouldn't ban anime just because of one idiot.

this is so ridiculous. "Anyone who is found in possesion of anime should be arrested and jailed for an exhorbant period of time." < There is no point in doing this either. Besides- animes are found mostly on cable and its the parents/guardians' idea if they want their child to watch some "pornographic" animes. As I said, this is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Idiots...

I saw this somewhere else..When I first read it I was well..rather angry but now that I look at it, this petition won't do anything. I should hope that there are more anime lovers in the U.S. than they are haters. I can't believe this person is badmouthing Japan like this tho, they are the people who make most of our cars. FRIGGIN` RACIST. But that's my opinion.

Wow, he must have had a lot of time on his hands. I'm sure that the president will write back to him, reassuring him that anime will be banned rolleyes.gif . After we arrest the potential criminals who are corrupting our youth we should burn them too. Just in case.
