What exactly does ghetto mean? ermm.gif
some people were saying it means.. like.. gangsta kinda.
and some people said it meant gay. pinch.gif

This dude called me ghetto.. so I was just wondering. _unsure.gif

i guess that ghetto could be good or bad. but where i live (texas) it means like bad. like if something is jacked up or looks bad, the people will say, "that is so ghetto!" but they also say "ghetto fabulous". and i think that means that it is ghetto but is good too. i think but i am not totally sure! pinch.gif

people have different meanings for it.
at our school ghetto = poor. which is true for our school because we pretty much live at the poor side of town.

it confuses me, i looked up the word in urbandictionary.com and it means something bad, but people seem to compliment people with the term...

around here, ghetto mean something is cool in a "gangsta"-ish way, or that it's cheap (i.e. "this burger king is ghetto!")

if u think about it.. GHETTO actually refers to like the slums... like the projects... like Harlem ny... so i dont know why some people refers STREET wear / hiphop wear as "ghetto" ...cause that shits madddd expensive

In my school, ghetto means...like...what it's supposed to mean. Slums. Poor areas. I've never heard it being synonymous with "gay" before...

I've heard it used as ghetto as in cheap, welfare, etc. and ghetto as in thug, gangsta,....

I always thought when you were using it in slang terms...that it just meant poor. blink.gif I always say, "Holy shiznit, Baldwin's so ghetto."

I use the term "ghetto" in the way that means "bootlegged," "crappy," and "cheap." Haha such as..

"This is a ghetto cd." (the cd is bootlegged)
"I just drew a ghetto version of the drawing I drew earlier." (The drawing looks crappy and quickly drawn = bad)
"Wow, your backpack looks ghetto." (the backpack is cheap and looks poorly made)

I NEVER use "ghetto" as a reference to being gangster. That's just lame. stubborn.gif

whenever i use the term "ghetto" i base it on ,actions that are placed upon or any sort of action that a person is doing with an object .

For Example :

"hey benny, why did u tape up a plastic plated roof top on your Jetta convertible ?? lol thats so ghetto laugh.gif"

....just to let u know this really happened

ghetto- cheap and priceless

ghetto- live out of the town, homeless people
ghetto- jews who live outside
