surely it wou;ld have been more effective to save them?

how would we have saved them? the people in asia didn't even know that the tsunami was going to hit because they don't have a sensor system like a lot of other countries do.

we can't keep on playing the "what if" game ... because yes, many people were killed, but we can't change that. We can't bring them back to life. And citizens of the U.S. are donating millions of dollars [even more than the government] to help out. Everyone's making the best of the situation as it stands...and if you would realize that we aren't super heroes with "spidey-senses" where we know when natural disasters are going to happen...then maybe you won't say something like that.

I don't think the US are testing nuclear bombs underwater!
Eck... that would be a disaster if they did. Anyways
the people who studies the waters and the earthquakes
said that they predicted there will be tsunami. They even
predicted one before the tsunami came before the
Southeast Asia one...

He was merely responding to the person who asked God to bless the lives that were lost by saying that it would have been better if God had prevented their deaths in the first place.

That is IMPOSSIBLE! nuclear bombs my butt! didnt they remember what happend last time we used a nuclear bomb>?! it killed over a million people in Hiroshima and Nagaski, Japan! people are still agruing if it was a good idea to drop it during WWII but that is a whole other thread in itself.

but after that horrible moment in history, we have refrained using any nuclear weaponry. we have too many other problems then waste time creating a bomb for a tsunami and then fix what we did. that is a bunch of baloney.

Uhm, I don't think that's true -- or it might be. But like the researchers or whatever in Hawaii knew there was going to be a tsunami, so they told all the people in Asia, but the people in Asia weren't part of this umm..west tsunami watcher society thingy, so they weren't sure how to get the message out, so like..yeah..
*

the civil defense in hawaii tried to inform the governments in asia that there might be a tsunami. but they couldnt b/c they didnt have the phone numbers of the countries..even if the government knew about the tsunami, they couldnt get the warning out to the ppl living on the coast b/c there wasnt any system...in hawaii and other pacific nations theres a system set up so if there is a tsunami we can evacuate to higher grounds..

and i dont think nuclear bombs caused the tsunami..right before the tsunami occured, there was a earthquake in that area. i think the tsunami occured b/c of the moving plates. that area has a lot of movement b/c of the ring of fire so i dont think its b/c of the united states.

Yes, yes, I know, the whole thing is rediculous. I started this thread to point out the ignorance of people blaming America for the tsunami, like everything is our fault in their eyes. It sickens me.

Okay, maybe that's just an excuse to make the tsunami our fault? Everyone knows the tsunami happened from an underwater earthquake.

NOt everyone in the world loves the US....some middle east Contries hate US

Ummm... yeah. Most of the world hates the U.S. I don't know if I'd necessarily blame them. But I do think it's really sad how so many people are getting fed loads of crap like the U.S. made the tsunami. I think they're just afraid that they could be losing power if the U.S. sets up new government in Iraq and the middle east.

Stupid propaagandaaaaaaahhhh!
