Go to www.smartftp.com and download that. Well, that's a start. I'm sure you can go on from there. There are also other ftp programs, but that's what I use.

FTP: file transfer protocol.
you can use your browser for FTP. open IE and goto ftp://ftp.batesian.net a popup dialogue should open up asking for your login info. if it doesnt, then click file >> login as. then you can just drag your files into the window. you wanna name your main webpage: index.html. (the first page you want to see when u goto your URL). your FTP works just like your computer. you can make folders, move things around etc. when you link something inside your subdomain... like when you put up an image... you link it like how you would on your computer. but instead of "c://...picture.jpg" you'd use "http://...picture.jpg" - or to make it easier, if it's in the same directory, type "picture.jpg" ... if it's in a child folder, type "folder/picture.jpg" after you get used to it, it makes a lot of sense. i'm sure you'll get the hang of it. if you cant use your browser, i use flashfxp, which you can DL here: http://flashfxp.com - i think thats the easiest to use. when the trial expires, just keep using it. it doesnt do anything. it does a countdown from 30 seconds, and then u just click "I Accept" |
