Well ~ People start dating in such a young age is quite a tragedy ( to me ) ~ I don't know... I mean they will not take it seriously, and do not really understand the true meaning of dating...
To me, I think people should start dating only when they are 16...
Maybe it is a a-bit-too-old thought... But that's how I feel

Well, it's their choice. In 4th grade here, people statred dating.
My first bf was at the age of 11. 6th grade. We broke up a while back.. but yeah, aren't like all girls, no matter what age, obsessed with guys? I mean.. when hormones start kicking in.. guys are hot.

yes..I knew a fourth grade boy who dated this girl in 6th grade, I was in her class too so yeah 6th grade. I think that was weird and too young...of course girls are obsessed with guys, but that doesn't mean that we have to go out with all of them when we're like 10 years old.

When we were in 8th grade my this one kid went out with my friend and he started getting like that with her. Weird...She broke up with him because she wanted to just be a kid and have fun, not being serious with that kind of stuff...she did the right thing biggrin.gif

I agree with this, but I don't think you should really put a specific age on it because some girls mature faster than others. In other words, for not so serious relationships, when the girl acts like she's thirteen she is ready and when she acts like she is 16 she is ready for a more serious relationship.

I meant 13 as a generalization.. like that age where your hormones are all freakin out on you and you just wanna LOOVEEEE someone. ;D

And drivers liscense age because it's so hard to date when you can NOT drive.. I mean, who's gonna take you out? Your parents?

Finally a comment I agree with. When you're in high school I think you are of age to start dating. Middle School/Junior High and Grade school are WAY too young in my opinion. Kids get carried away with it, and believe that they are old enough to do anything. They take the relationship too seriously and believe that this boy/girl friend will be with them forever, and do things that they will regret later on in life.

At least when you are in high school, most people have their head on straighter than when you were 11. Plus if you happen to have sex, you won't be too young compared to getting pregnant when you're 11. It's just common sense. Kids are growing up too fast these days in my opinion, and I think it's such a shame. Enjoy your childhood, you only get one. Don't grow up too fast because there will be nothing to look forward to when you are older.

u know, when I was in elementary school, we all had boyfriends, but like, we never even kissed them. it was basically I like you you like me yay we're together. we never "went out" or actually dated or anything. the most we did was b-day parties. so I mean, thats the age for girls to realise boys dont have cooties. and its also a confidence boost. a girl who has a boy who likes her, feels accepted. easy as that...

I didn't start officially dating until I was in 8th grade. I was 13 at the time when I had my first official boyfriend lol.

I can't really say what age someone should have a boyfriend but I would say 13... but that's just my preference.

OMG I KNEW THIS KID LIKE THAT!! He's in 8th grade now, really long story, but he still plays with yugioh and digimon and he seriously believes that one day when his mother was cooking eggs in a frying pan, he was cracked out of one of those eggs, seriously no lie this kids crazy. His friends like that too but not as bad as him...Yeah I don't think kids should date until they're in high school either. Like you ppl saud, they don't actually go out anywhere they just use the term "going out" its kinda stupid I think mellow.gif happy.gif

yea its so annoying how kids as young as like 10 start getting obsessed with the opposite sex (usually seems to be girls but...)

i think an appropriate age is about 9th or 10th grade, because you're just so much more mature (usually) and are more... yourself. you know what and (hopefully) are comfortable with what your beliefs, self image, and just who you are. this makes people see each other for who thy really are, and then can have easier and better relationships and understandings.

end of speech lol innocent.gif
