My Dad won't get off my back!, OMG my dad is so ANTI-BOY!

OMG! My dad is so OVERPROTECTIVE! What should I do?? At this rate I'll NEVER get a boyfriend pinch.gif ! I have a friend, who I've known forever, recently he told me that he liked me, I like him too, but my dad doesn't like his family. And plus I'm kinda not allowed to speak, see or even IM him. Bummer, I know. When I was little my dad used to make me ALWAYS Recite "No boyfriends forever and ever" I always thought it was a joke, until he began to take it seriously, it's soooo effin embarrassing! ermm.gif I wanna be all "Get off my back" to him becuse he ALWAYS has to remind me that his family isn't as high up in the socials. My mom thinks he's cute and well-mannered, from all the times he was at my house. (while my dad was away) What should I do?

i had the same problem, just date, i mean, ur old enough to take care of urself.ur dads not always gonna be holding ur hand.trust me.

Haha. My mom is the one who won't get off my back. NO BOYFRIENDS UNTIL COLLEGE!! JUST FOCUS ON SCHOOLWORK!! and my dad often makes jokes about me and guys .. lol.

i say just date that dude. sneak if you have to. ignore your dad :P

how old are you? just wondering because a lot of girls that post topics about dating are really young and shouldn't be preoccupied with dating in the first place. anyways, show your dad that you are mature enough to handle dating someone. sit down with him and talk to him and tell him your reasons for liking this guy and make sure your mom is there so she can back you up about him being well mannered. going around and being sneaky and dating him isn't going to make your dad get any warmer to the whole dating idea.

and remember the loophole of dating: what ur parents don't know, can't hurt them. sneak if u must.

^good point. but her dad is past the extreme already. thats just paranoia. i mean.."u can't im boys. they're evil! here, take this fourty-seven leaved clover and ward them off." that's just plain ol' creepy as hell.

i agree. but anyways, life doesn't revolve around boys. i mean having a bf might be nice, but you won't die because you're single.

lol.. i have the same problem.. well not exactly.. my dad's kinda better.. ><" im just not allowed to date til i was around what? 18? =.=" gahhh.. anyways, after school he went to pick me up and i was talking to a guy friend or something.. and then when i went into the car he's like, "you cannot have a boyfriend." and im like, "I know >.>" and he's like, "remember. you CANNOT have a boyfriend.." =.=" and he gets really pissing at times.. around many other things..
ps. i don't really mind tho.. i don't even want one =p my dad's just annoying. =.="

Well i don't think you should do the first part of that, but mentioning that if your mom's dad was like that then he wouldn't have married her would work. You can't be too harsh, because then it'll just piss him off and he'll lock you in your room forever.

My dads like that too. I talk to my sister about boys, though. She takes me like.. everywhere. You just have to see it from his point of view. He doesn't wanna lose his little girl... My older sister got her boyfriend (she's 17) and now she's hardly ever at home anymore.
