^ I believe I'm in love with you...lol

Aren't there any more flutes here???!?? or French Horns =]

Still I want capes!!! Nikki all i can think about is capes now, thanks a lot jk.

Concert Band is so boring. I didn't make Wind Symphony so I haven't done any concerts yet, while they do one a month with new music each time. Well hopefully I can make the Symphonic Band, not just plain concert band that doesn't get to do anything.

Remember to keep this topic going!

I'm not a band geek but most of my friends are in the Swain marching band and I know the entire band...even though there's max 50 people in there.
I've had two best friends who play trumpet and I almost joined the colorguard.
Band geeks are f***ing awesome! WOO!
I have been snuck into many band oriented places...

OK first of all.... my Marching band came in second in the SoCal comps.. right behind El Dorado who did the Rose Parade so unless you go there... you have zero right to clain that your band is better. PLus Our choir is one of the best in the Nation, we've gotton so many awards its not funny. so there =D

If you wear the same colors as them you might be able to blend... =]

ok, well, were not on the national level, and were not even amoung best in state, about amoung the second rank, but were still quite good compared to a large amount of bands in and out of state

what kind of regulations are you referring to? if you do BOA, then you have to adhere to national standards because theyre national competitions

Hi~ My name is Gloria, I play the trumpet in my Wind Ensemble, Marching Band and Jazz Band. Out of all of them, I prolly like Marching Band the best. Just the competitions and knowing the fact that these ppl have seen u at ur worst, they're almost like a family. Our school band program is pretty small, our marching band only had like 50 ppl last season and our Wind Ensemble (our highest band) is juss a little bit smaller than that. But we have like one of the best band program in the state though because our school got remodeled and so all the school instruments are new, the band room is new, just everything band related is new.

O and I was talking about how each state has different Band assocaitions. Like in California there is a N. Cali and So. Cal branch and they're slightly different and well each state is kindda like that right?

were getting...some new stuff. i think we have new tubas coming. not to mention the uniforms.

georgia isnt divided like that, and not just because of it being a good deal smaller (although that may play a roll). we dont have curcuits. until i started taking to people online, i didnt know what curcuits were, or even tbat they existed. weve competed against bands from various places in GA and some from tennessee, alabama, and south carolina. we still all follow the same guidelines or whatever...

our uniforms were very simple, extremely in fact, but the new ones are white on one side and black on the other so theyre supposed to "pop" when we turn around. yeah, i dont know. and we have gauntlets (i think thats what theyre called) now.

people have been very anti-band the past 2 days and its pissing me off

yeah, they were talking about how the only useful band instrument was percussion because you can use it in a "real band." another guy said the only useful instruments period are the guitar, piano, and drums. i hate you, i hate you all. it was funny that both these very different people said practically the same thing at completely different times. they hate each other to, so it was fun to inform scott that he sounded just like kirk...teehee
