1. i just got my braces on Saturday
2. my teeth hurts everytime when i chew, bite, and eat. 3. i cant eat alot and i cant stuck all my food in my mouth ... 4. is that normal ? 5. tell me about your experiences 6. what should i eat ? |

yes thats all normal. eat lots of soup and noodles haha...i had braces for 2 1/2 years (end of grade 5 to middle of grade 8) and yeah they sucked...but i have nice teeth now. but yeah...i ate ramen for a looong time lol

1. i eat too much ramen noodles, i'm getting sick of it .. 2. it hurt like HELL EVERY TIME WHEN I CLOSE MY MOUTH OR EAT, ARE YOU SURE THATS REALLY NORMAL ? thanks for your tips .. i'm gonna eat soup w/ rice more often. |

1. How do I answer this question? Uhm okay. I got my braces two years ago on January 24th, 2003.
2. My teeth hurts when I get CHAINS or if I have to wear my rubberbands in a new position. 3. Eat yogurt. Ice cream. Liquidy stuff. 4. YES it IS normal. You got your braces YESTERDAY! I've grown to love my braces and I'm going to cry when I get them off. They hurt like a bxtch for the first two or three days.. Especially when you're sleeping. You can't fall asleep because it hurts like hell. And you can't get food out of your mouth because it seems as if your tongue can't stretch that far. This is normal. When I first got them, I freaked out because I couldn't play my instrument. You'll soon become comfortable with your braces once you get use to the check ups and cuts in your mouth, etc. 5. Uh. I summed it up over yonder ^ 6. .. Summed that up on #3. Don't chew gum because it seriously gets stuck in your teeth without you knowing if you blow bubbles or whatever.. I still chew gum anyways. Don't get caramel stuck in your bracket and try to yank it off because your brackets will come off and you'll have to go back to the orthodontist to fix it. K I'm done. |

Yes. 5. tell me about your experiences For the first week of your braces, you'll have trouble eating and perhaps lose your appetite. It'll hurt quite a bit, but after a while you'll get used to it. It's hard not to get used to something you'll have on for a couple of years. 6. what should i eat ? Err...ice cream? Porridge? I ate lots of congee when I had braces, lots of ice cream too. Maybe some soup. Lots of liquid stuff. Besides, it's only your SECOND day of braces. Don't worry. By the way, I'm getting mine off on Monday. I don't know why...but I agree with Eve. I think I might miss them. A lot. =( |

dam, you people have such a great relationship w/ braces .. is it becuase all the good stuffs you get ?
now i know for sure that it's normal to have pain from chewing or eating |

Don't worry....it's normal.
Your teeth are just sore because they're moving. They'll probably hurt for a few more days. Eat pudding or yogurt. When I first got my braces, I was so miserable, but I hate taking medicine so I suffered and let myself take the pain. The hurting lasted about a week for me. You'll get used to it...don't worry. =] |

Yea. Its normal. Its gonna stop hurting after the first few days. Its gonna start hurting again when you go back to get it tightend. I still ate solid food. Just took my time

braces for me, sucked...along with the rest of the population out there with braces...but it's normal for your teeth to hurt, and be sure to eat soft foods, cause some hard foods will rip the bracket off! =( that sucks...

OMG ! dont get invisiline!!! They are clear in the beggining, and get yellower everyday!
I got my braces a year ago! 9th grade, so one more year for me! >_> The first 4 days i got it = hell it hurts when u start using chains and rubberbands, or if they tighten ur braces. OUCH! BUT I HEAR IT'S GREAT RESULTS AFTER U GET THEM OFF!! =] |

2. my teeth hurts everytime when i chew, bite, and eat. predictable. 3. i cant eat alot and i cant stuck all my food in my mouth ... that doesn't make grammatical sense. 4. is that normal ? didn't your ortho tell you it was? 5. tell me about your experiences they suck ass, i've had them for a little over a year now. 6. what should i eat ? not popcorn and not gum. i tried doing the whole "oh whatever it won't do anything to me" but they find it. and when they find it, they have NO mercy. |

I got my braces on in fifth grade and got them off in seventh. I'm really glad that I got them on so early because I got them off early too. I would hate to have them now. It's normal for your teeth to hurt when you get them on and after every appointment that you have. I usually would take some painkillers and until they kicked in, I would eat applesauce.
