QUOTE(banddorko @ Jan 30 2005, 4:41 PM) agreed. center of the world has to be one of the best songs ever written. i'm surprised that wide awake is the number two album on itunes. i'm fearing what i'm going to see when this week's billboard charts come out ![]() Yeah, He's number one now. But I don't think he will ever be mainstream popular and even if he did it probably wouldn't affect him. Haha, I left a comment on your xanga about this. I'm btwnlove_hate. On Fevers and Mirrors I think my favorite song is The Calendar Hung Itself. Center of the World is amazing though. |

"trendy/slighty underground/cool" music in it's top 100 though, so no worries. i think i'm wide awake has a sound that's a lot more approachable than his previous albums, which may be why it's doing SO well.... |

Yeah, I think so too. As you can see Digital Ash isn't even on that list, though it is amazing none the less. I think that Wide Awake is just more, shall we say, 'normal' for the majority of people to accept. Digital Ash isn't something everyone would love. I know it sounds weird, haha. It's alright, you can tell Conor Oberst is a kind of kid who is going to be writing great music for the rest of his life. ![]() |
