I forgot to mention Raid 0, but thats beside the point. I made a ton of cash buying and selling laptops on ebay last year. Did about 2 laptops a week. Paypal and seller fees are rediculously high but nonetheless still made great money. I sold Latitude C610 laptops and beefed em up. I would get an extra 256MB stick of ram for say, $10 somewhere and then it will have 512. Raises the selling price by nearly 30 dollars sometimes. Some people wanted to upgrade the DVD to a CD-RW for my advertised $69, when i only paid $25 for it. I also have a home computer business, which is my main source of income. Lots of people have no clue what they are doing these days....and that's what I am here for, at least in my area. I even go to pick them up and drop them off, for free whereas other businesses would charge $50 to do that. Got 2 pcs I am working on right here next to my server. On that note, I have to get busy. Have a nice day, and you seem to know a good bit about hardware, as I do, but that was at 12am and I was very tired, horny and whatnot.

For college, laptops are generally better than desktops. unless you like to game a lot. It really depends on what you look for; if you want a light computer that you can carry around and won't game a lot, look for a thin-and-light laptop. If you don't care about being light and you game fairly often but still need to bring it to class, then get a heavy power-notebook. if you don't need to bring it to class and game a lot, then get a desktop.
