ok--so best friends are awesome..but are the old better/worse than the new??

it seems no one around me can keep a long friendship going..we all change to quickly..me and my bff have been bff's for about a year and a half and are facing rocky and troublesome waters..is this normal? i love my bff to death but we're just simply growing apart it seems..does anyone else have this problem? or does it take the perfect ppl to make best friends forever last forever?

it's normal to have problems with your best friends, that's why you get so close because you get past those things...but sometimes people change and/or maybe they weren't meant to have long lasting relationships...

i think you should try to work it out with your best friend, that kind of friendship is usually worth saving

yea, i think it's normal to go through that with friends. my bff have been best friends for about 2 years now, and we go through our times, but that usually means that we just need a lil break. then we get over it and are best friends again. the good thing about best friends, is that u should be able to tell them nething. when they're being annoying, or dumb, or making a bad decision, let them know. that's how we do it neways. otherwise, it's hard to tell wats goin on. hope that helps.

well, i've never really had a best friend- only good friends. and now, my only best friend is my boyfriend. but anyways, it's normal to have problems with your best friends. just work through your problems.

i think it's normal to have rough times with your bff, i mean i would start to worry if my relationship with my best friend is all perfect.

Well, my best friends have varied over the years. Hey what can you do. You go with the flow and you enjoy yourself with new people. You resist and you get into fights with people you just don't have patience for anymore.

I suggest you first try to make things better with your friend, and then, if nothing works, just go with the flow.

i think best friends shouldn't be about how long you knew them. It's how well you know them. My elementary school best friends kind of drifted apart from me; but my current best friends are very close to me, and I only met them 3 years ago; but I have a better connection with them.

Best friends will eventually be lost after highschool graduation. But now is the time to seize them. I have drifted apart from many of my old best friends. And my main group and i are drifting. I think as time goes by old friends will start to slip away but its normal. Eventually you and your friends will have less in common so just let your friends come and go. happy.gif

after grade 7, all my bestest friends went on to the same highschool and i went to a different one. Its been 3 years now and i still keep in touch with them but sometimes when i hang out with them i feel isolated from their jokes and what they say. ive got other friends from my school but like different groups and its hard to maintain which ones are your really close friends. last year i hung out witha bunch of ppl that were pretty cool and now this year im fading away from them and hanging out with another group. ive tried to bring them together but it just doesnt match

some friendships aren't meant to last. but if you two are really bff then you'll probably pull through this.

That's why I never call my best friend's "Best Friends Forever" because you never know what will happen. In 6th grade, I had these fabulous 3 friends. We would hang out ALL the time. Now since we're in junior high.. and we have different lunches and different classes, we're starting to drift apart.

My best friend and I have known each other forever....since first grade. Anyhoo, we have our fights now and then when we were younger, but it kinda died down now since we're more mature. Although she lives in Sugarland and goes to another school...I still keep in contact with her. We still go shopping, watching movies, the usual. :]

I think that it depends on the person, like if you're compatible and stuff. But generally, I think it gets better with age, because you have more things to build on and so many good times together. But it does seem like a lot of people forgive their friends because they just want to have a friendship for a long time.
