I've been wondering lately, what's the point of having an "American Idol", when the runner-up and many other cast-offs end up with recording contracts? Is it just so they win the title of "American Idol"? Sorry, it's just my opinion, and I've been pondering that for a while.

true. the runner-up and others do get a contract. but i guess the "american idol" is the most famous? i don't know *shrug*

they have nothing better to do with themselves. lol. i have no clue because some of the people who lost will get a recording contract.

I don't like watching American Idol.
There's too much bad singers when they think they're good. And then when they don't like their singing, they bitch about it. |

well..this show is to find goood singers. mostly, the runner up is oviously pretty good to..soo music companys give them a contract because theyr good..i understand.

Because the person "crowned" American Idol automatically gets a record deal, dont they? That's why they do it. The other good people that dont make it that far, sometimes get record deals because some person out there thinks their good enough. It's just by chance that the others get it.

yeah. just for the title. because if you make it to the top 10 or 12, you will probably get a contract. but ya never know.
