No, I meant...if we're having a phone conversation, what will the long distance bills run up to??

oh right right. i thought you meant about singling out non-americans

if you dial 10-10-987, you can talk anywhere in the US (continental and otherwise), Canada, probably Mexico, and western Europe for the same (low) price

however, if youre in australia, i cant help you there

Mostly, our phone parties are on free night&weekend minutes on cellphones so there are no extra charges. I assume if this sing-off takes place, it'd be the same situation.

I wouldn't doubt it; thus far, I have yet to be included in a phone party that includes an international call..

http://skype.com would probably be a good (free) program to use for this, if it ever does take place.

Skype looks like a nifty idea......and is a pretty interesting software.....but i shoudlve spoken more clearly on Ventrilo or Teamspeak,

Ventrilo(http://www.ventrilo.com/index.php) and Teamspeak(http://www.goteamspeak.com/news.php)is a voice- over , server based communication software , its a program used for multiple people in one server over the internet to here and speak to each other. Kind of like using a MIRC Chatroom but also adding the Voice Communication Software so we could hear each other while were chatting. There are some things that we need in order for this to work :

1. CB would have to make a server

2. Everyone just needs to have a Computer Mic and download the Client

its pretty much an easy software instead of the hassle and complications of calling people by phone and wondering if your billed because of the long-distance services , but hey ! everyone might not have a computer mic......so anything goes with me _smile.gif

the whole reason we discussed a phone party is because not everyone has a mic and not everyone is going to go out and buy one... but everyone has a phone. and most cellphones has 3way calling. the reason i say this is because a lot of us frequently have these phone parties... like every night..

And we're back on the same point again.. Sigh, circular arguments.. So anyways, online programs were brought up for people who are out of the States. After all, the reason phone parties are held on free night/weekend minutes is because we're cheap, right? I doubt people want to pay to call people outside of the States to include them in a sing-off.

If you do it over the phone could you do it in sessions? It might be easier to hear everyone and there wouldn't be so much confusion.

people's phone bill would be really high...even with free nights and weekends...three-ways calling and stuff cost extra money...just think about 30-way calling....oh hell no >.<

Eh, I'm rarely let anybody hear my singing voice. I'd like to hear the contestants though? Maybe judge?

How should we make this work? Well, whoever can/are allowed to three-way, could do it that way (like somebody mentioned before)...although it would need to be organized to avoid confusion. People who can't do it by phone could either do it by voice chat on yim or aim or could somehow find a way to record themselves and submit it. It's not logical to think that one way will work for everybody...so if we have a few ways that people could enter, it might work. Good idea, tweesh =]
