- Check to see if your question has been covered in either the Xanga Scripts section or the Self Help question. Browsing or searching through the topics and finding your question already answered saves us all a lot of time. Plus, a thread containing links to all the scripts, skins and help is coming soon. I've checked as well as I can since I'm not sure what this "code" is called so it's made it kind of hard. I did look through the help forum extensivley though and could not find anything relating to this exactly.
- State your problem clearly and descriptively. Also please be specific in the subject when you create a topic. We can't help you if you say "how do i turn that thingy on the side blue?" If you state your problem clearly, there will be less chance of a misunderstanding and higher probability that you'll get help. Pictures speak louder than words, please see link. I dont understand why Im getting these codes and what I need to do to make them work correctly. I know html to an extent but these codes are driving me batty. The problem is all the code showing under my entries. >><$BlogItemCommentCount$> Comments: <$BlogCommentBody$> By <$BlogCommentAuthor$>, at <$BlogCommentDateTime$> <$BlogCommentDeleteIcon$> <$BlogItemCreate$><< Im obviously not understanding wiether these need links put in to get them to work or what :( - Please provide a link to the xanga that needs help or to a referenced xanga. Some of your usernames here are different from your xanga usernames so don't forget to give us a link!! Suende's Xanga Blog - Please speak english!!! It's hard to answer your question when we have to translate "cHeCk dIs oWt d00Dz!!!" plain english is fine... please no sticky caps, abbreviations etc... LOL - Make your own thread if you have a question. Don't ask a question in a thread randomly... ex. in a thread titled Font Color, don't ask a question about blink boxes! I'm trying to do this to your guys specifications because I REALLY need help. I hope I explained everything as well as you'd like :) The original code can be found here Kiss Blog Template I didnt change anything except the picture url's & personal info, I also did choose Xanga when I got the template to make sure it worked. ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated!! Also I attached the code I'm using (that I altered) so you can see what I did, I wasnt sure wiether I needed to post it here or attach it so I attached it. I'm assuming this can be compared to the original code that I linked above, but like I said I didnt change anything code wise.

this skin might be intended for premium users only, and if you're not premium, those funky bits of code might show up....
QUOTE <$BlogItemCommentCount$> Comments: <$BlogCommentBody$> By <$BlogCommentAuthor$>, at <$BlogCommentDateTime$> <$BlogCommentDeleteIcon$> <$BlogItemCreate$> my interpretation of this: u have the code for total # of comments, code for actual comment, comment author, date/time, and the delete icon....also, u have the leave comment area as...it looks like u mixed the code up somehow, cuz that code shouldn't be there.... it should be on the "leave comment" page for an outside viewer. i dunno. this is a bit over my head. ps--nice layout choice. |

BLAH! I wonder why she included it for the xanga code too than..odd! So hmm, I DONT need it than? I'm just afriad to remove it and it screw something up, ya know?!
Yes I am premium at the moment..I would really like to stay with Xanga but I also like to customize so I'm hoping I can fix this. QUOTE my interpretation of this: u have the code for total # of comments, code for actual comment, comment author, date/time, and the delete icon....also, u have the leave comment area as...it looks like u mixed the code up somehow, cuz that code shouldn't be there.... it should be on the "leave comment" page for an outside viewer. i dunno. this is a bit over my head. Okay so thats 2 "it shouldnt be there's" basiclly, because I did not change any code other than the lines where it said "your url here" and the personal stuff. Maybe if I get a few more responces telling me it's not a xanga feature or whatever I'lll try to find the code for that and get rid of it. THANK YOU for your help so far I appreciate it. And thank you also for the compliment :) I like to keep it simple. |

I'm positive it's not a Xanga feature.
Look, even here's there's a topic on BLOGGER.com skinning that shows those tags.. http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10373 |

grrr I remove that area of the code and it takes out my whole blog area..I think I may just hold off on using this skin (or any for that matter) until I can figure out the code myself. Guess I get to learn how to code this stuff huh hehe Thanks again for helping :)

As in a differnt blogger or a differnt skin? If your meaning blog I havent found another that is as customizational, hence why I said Id like to stick with it. If you mean skin Ive been doing that all night, some work some dont..*shrugs* learning to code is going to be the only way I can be certain to get all the elements I like, and make sure I dont get goofy codes poking out like that.
scuse the spelling, sleepy girl here lol |

I'm glad you chose to follow all the rules.
Well since you're on CB, why not trying using all the provided skins here? You don't really need to know much about HTML stuff, and most of them are really nice. |
