my idea is this:

a seperate board for music requests. u get sick of seeing them here, so why not set up a seperate board for them. i think it would be a good idea. the board could be located in the xanga section, so people would know where to go with their xanga music requests....

i like the idea. i'd even moderate the new board....i think this is a good idea...but i'm just me....

my assumptions of mods opinions on this will be (my opinions in bold):

people should have to work hard, like we did, to pimp their xangas.
agreed. but help is nice.

true, why should they??? i'd only help people who i felt really needed it. and no way in hell would i make a custom playlist for someone unless i knew them.
how could people be kept from abusing the board?
u could impose a 20 post minimum on requests. anyone who doesn't have 20 posts, doesn't get an answer. that'd keep alot of randoms from requesting.

well, it's your prob if you really are here to help members of the blogging community. locating music is huge issue on these boards and on xanga in particular...
why don't u set up a xanga music request site of your own???
i've considered it. the only probs with this idea, is that i already have 2 xangas, not counting the time i spend on layouts and graphic design...and having a life outside of blog/net world. another thing that deters me from persuing this is that a lot of people will overlook music sites cuz they have their limitations...also, i would be a speciality site if i did have one...i'd specialize in the music i listen to. does anyone on this board run a music site?? how much work is involved?? how should i set it up??

i'm done for today. i am not trying to make people angry or anything...i just want some input on this idea...it may have been pitched before, i dunno. i've only been on here for about a month...

Thanks for the suggestion. The main point of cB is to help customize and enhance their online experiences. Most mods don't have opinions of what you assume.

Most people that ask for music requests don't even bother looking for them first. They just post it in Xanga Help, making us do the work without them even trying to look. We want to encourage people to help themselves, if we made a music requests forum people would just come and join, ask for a song and then leave. Next time they need a song, they'll just come and leave. Sure we want to help as much as we can.. but it's just a song. We'll be the ones doing the work, and they won't even have to try.. it's kinda like that one moral.. Why catch a fish for a man that'll feed him one day when you can teach him to fish to feed him a lifetime? Ok I'm kinda going off topic here.. but yeah. Your idea contradicts this rule..

i guess i'll just start a 3rd xanga for music requests...and when i have it up and running, i'm posting here and adding it to the BBoR...i wanna help people and i will, just not here on createblog, as far as music posts here go....
