can you make your calves smaller?

you know when people run a lot they usually get like really big calves. i know their muscles and all but can you make it smaller?

stretching, or doing minor exercises to work your calves may help. I run a lot, but my calves are small! Maybe try jogging for like 15 minutes a day, or something similar where It's not overworking your calves that may cause them to get bigger?

Yea.. excersize them but.. sometimes it confuses me,, cause if you excersize them.. itll be filled with muscles.... wow theres like no way around lifes problems.. WHAT THe EFF

hm i'm not sure quite about making them smaller but do some different excercises focused on the tone and not the strength so they won't look so big perhaps?

Yea i have the same problem. I am like skinny until it comes to my legs it's all filled with muscles 'nd make me look fat!

If you run on a daily basis, I'm not sure if you can make them smaller. The only thing I can think of is stop running. You'll lose muscle...but you probably want to keep working out, so stop running wouldn't be an option.

yeah i think my calves are huge because i run and play soccer alot and im in decent shape. i see other people that run and play soccer alot and their calves are small, maybe its genetics lol =P

^ true alot of it is genetics. but if you wanna make ur calves smaller then i suggest jogging for about 10-15 min at a time, or doing sprints. and be sure to stretch, it was weird tho because when i played basketball my calves got smaller...maybe it was because of the short sprints instead of the long running

Yea I play soccer and taekwondo so I got big calves too. There are 2 different kinds of exercises. Toning and building. Toning is for smaller tighter muscles that are for endurance. Building is for BIG quick lift muscles. To tone you just run alot not fast. For building you run fast not alot. Thats why sprinters have big muscles and marathoners(?) are really thin. kk

you might be able to get them small if you don't walk for a long time or maybe if you don't eat alot of protein. or if you don't work out. _unsure.gif

ohhh dem calves are a bizatch to change.... they protest in pain to increase and grow fat with lack of exercise =_=

I think they get larger when one uses them in bursts, such as running and jumping.. plyometric exercises... So uhhhh don't tear dem calves =p

my brother tells me to do toe/ calf raises or w/e constantly duno how to explain how to do em but if you do it till it hruts and do it evenly over time liek a month i'm sure itll help

SWIMMING! i had small calves when i swam :) and when i did basketball too.

ehh, they grew bigger when i did more running/tennis and stuff :/
