<div id=layer1 style="position:absolute; top:20; left:20; width:200; height:250; z-index:1; padding:3px; border: #000000 2px solid; background-color:#6666FF;"> stuff </div> |

Keep messing with the numbers in the "top" and "left" until you get it where you want it. You can also make the numbers negative to move it in the other direction.

It doesn't work. I've tried up to numbers as big as 5,000 for both. It stays top mid

try that. if you want it on the right, you can also use positive numbers, BUT if theu don't work, then try negative numbers. they won't always work so you have to experiment. |

OK, I got the thing to move, but now it won't move past below the posts I make. It stays above the post even though I put the coding very last.
<!-- begin code provided by createblog.com --> <div style="position:absolute; margin-top:800px; margin-left:800px; width:200; height:250; padding:3px; border: #000000 2px solid; background-color:#6666FF;">stuff</div> <!-- end code provided by createblog.com --> |

If you haven't done so, move the div you've just posted before the blog div.

see where it says padding? get rid of that. and make sure your coding is consistent. like some places you put px and other places you didn't. sometimes it doesn't matter but it's just a lot neater that way.

have you tried using the xanga skin previewer in xanga tools so tha, you can keep on fixing it without messing up your xanga? this way, you can position the divs faster.
btw, i see a looooot of space on the top of your xanga. and the div is mis-aligned. i can't really help you which way to move it becuase it might be mozilla firefox. sorry =\ |
