Hi, I really need help with my new xanga skin! I know a bit of HTML but I'm not an expert. I downloaded this awesome layout from this site but it only came with a little bit of code. ((Like the scrollbar color, link visited...etc..)) I need some help! Thanks a lot!

Sorry about that...I don't know what I was thinking when I was typing that post...It must have slipped my mind.

The layout I am talking about can be found Here, It's the first one. (It's black and navy, titled 'Look only at me'.)

Thanks once again!

Of course! Yes, they should anyway.

Here they are:

And that was it...I guess she was like 'figure the rest out yourself.' lol And then she gave you the pic for the layout, button, and avatar to upload on your own server.

Thanks!

okay, all you have are the codes for the scrollbars and for the hover links., you know that. what else would you like on your xanga? do you need to know how to actually get the layout onto the xanga?

Yeah, I know. That's all that came with it. And whatever came after that I had no clue because the code wasn't complete. And yes, I am trying to get the layout onto my xanga.

Thanks!

topic re-opened
she was just clarifying, now i'm posting something to help her happy.gif

okay, first paste this code into your custom header. you'll need to do everything in this order happy.gif

if you don't have an image url, you'll need to upload your image. try www.imageshack.us. see where the number signs are? insert numbers in place of those. this code moves your main image around. say if you want your main image to align with the top left corner, you would play around with the numbers until it goes where you want it to. margin just means how far away it is from the top of your browser window or from the left of the screen.

next comes a pretty confusing part so stay with me.

at the beginning, you see another one of those "div" codes. these are to move things around and place them where you want them to go. this code will be for moving your info bar/module around. again, replace the # symbols with numbers for margin left and top like you did for the first code. then it says width and height. well this will be the width and height of your module. overflow means if you want a scrollbar or not. if you say "overflow: auto" it will give you a scrollbar. if you say "overflow: none", your module will not have a scrollbar. if you say overflow: none, you will need to put 100%px as your height instead of any other number.
to get the "custom" modules or whatever, i used tables. i put TITLE and INFO in for you so that you can see where everything goes. just edit those as you wish. i left the xanga links in there as well. edit those to your liking also.

then comes another div code [they're very important in xanga skinning happy.gif]

okay there's another div code. this one is for moving your blog around. use the same technique as before and remember the part about the overflow. now jump down to where it has all those 6 digit numbers..just enter in your own color codes and fonts and font sizes and whatnot. those should be pretty self-explanatory. just replace my color codes. you'll also need to find a background color and enter that color code in.
now if you look closely, there are 2 places where it talks about the width of the blog and one place about the width of the module in the stylesheet. just enter those in according to what you had in your div codes.

that should be it..i know this was really long and really confusing, so if you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask happy.gif
