Hmm. Well that isn't very good answer. History and the Bible prove themselves. Jesus is mentioned in many important non-biblical historical documents. The story of Jesus is one the most well known stories in the entire world. The Bible is the best selling book still to date. I can go on and on.

Can you say that Alexander the Great did'nt exist? Or Muhamed Ghandi? You might as well say no one existed.

Jesus is only one of many great men of history.
Granted, Jesus was a great man of history. That is a fact. But, He is different from all the other great men of history. How many great men of history rose from the dead, calmed a sea, walked on water, raised others from the dead, healed sickness, and forgave sins? There aren't any others that I know of. Do you know of any? These things make Him more than great. They make Him special and unique.
You are right, Jesus was a great man. But let me ask you. If He were great, would He lie? Of course not. If He were great, would He be insane? No. You see, Jesus said He was God (John 1:1,14; 10:30-33; 20:28; Col. 2:9; Phil. 2:5-8; Heb. 1:8). If He were lying, we shouldn't listen to Him and we couldn't call Him great. If He were insane then we shouldn't listen to Him and again we couldn't call Him great. If He is great, then He must be telling the truth. And He was great, right?
John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God." Verse 14 says, "and the Word became flesh..." The Word is Jesus. This means that Jesus is God in flesh. If this is so, then He cannot be merely "a great man of history." He would be far more than that.

thought this was cool,

"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also." John 15:18-20

nice one. my favorite verse is 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

I also like Psalm 18:2.

"The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, and my strength, for whom I will trust; my buckler, the horn of my salvation, and my high tower."

Excellent stuff =)! I love these verses!

Some verses I am paritcularly fond of are Job 36:24-33. I love these verses because it is just one of the many that show how scientific the Bible is and how it proves that people weren't ignorant of how things worked back then and how awsome God is. These verses show the hydrologc water cycle. It shows us exactly how rain takes place and this is before science was even able to explain it! Actually this is how scientists learned how rain worked. _smile.gif

24 Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold. 25 Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off. 26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out. 27 For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof: 28 Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly. 29 Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle? 30 Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea. 31 For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance. 32 With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt. 33 The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.

Love is patient; love is kind
and envies no one.
Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude;
never selfish, not quick to take offense.
There is nothing love cannot face;
there is no limit to its faith,
its hope, and endurance.
In a word, there are three things
that last forever: faith, hope, and love;
but the greatest of them all is love.

~ 1 Corinthians 13 ~

That's one of them, but i have a lot more

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 and the book of Ruth... you have to give props to the first woman who had her own book in the New Testament.

Hmm. Let me think.
"All things are possible to him who believes."
"Be strong"

... can't remember the exact books/chapters/verses. pinch.gif
But they're bound to be from the Bible.

ooh and on this comment i just wanted to reply that if you ask any history teacher they would be able to tell you that there actually was a man named Jesus Christ in history that died on the cross and brought up the Christian religion. Plus they found a bunch of historical artifacts that were mentioned in the Bible. Plus you say that you dont know he exists since you cant see him... well air exists and you cant see that either.

My favorite comes from Luke 6:37...

"Judge not, and ye shall not be judged; condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned; forgive, and ye shall be forgiven."

Words have never been truer.
