Gosh... I just had abig fight with my parents saying that they wont let me wear flip flops to school (its allowed in the dress code). They said it makes me look like i live in a trailer. They also said that it does matter what people think about how you dress and stuff. AHH! What do you guys think? Or what should I do?

weel before my parents wouldnt let me wear those cheap chinese slippers, i jus took them to school and wore them there, until they found out, ther wer like who cares...

That's really weird. Everyone wears them...in the summer. It's also kinda weird you're making the post while it's still winter. Anyways, just wear em. Stick them in your backpack & put em on at school. Such a rebel.

My mom wears so many flip-flops, so it's basically okay for me to. Bleah, I'd just still wear them.. if I were you. |

If I were you I'll pack them in my backpack then wear them when I get to school. But of course sandals are prohibited at my school unless it has a strap on the back of your foot and you also have to wear socks.

your parents are hilarious! and i use to wear flip flops from the start of spring to end of summer, made a gap between my big toe and second toe...and it makes my feet dry so I guess, listen to your parents but not thier explanation

i had the same thing happen with my parents last year i think. they said something about how it doesnt respect school or whatever even though everyone where them. they also said something about how in thailand everybody wears uniform and it just looks.. dirty i guess. it was more of a conflict with my dad rather than my mom. now they dont really care though.
i dk.. i kinda got their points at the time but i still put them in my backpack and switched them at school..

flip flops, lol. In Hawaii we call them slippers, and they dont denote being poor here. Theyre extremely common. slippers have nothing to do with respect or wealth here, its all about comfort, and theyre really easy to put on and take off.

tell them that people in school happen to feel that u look good in flipflops and if they tell u to care about how people think u look, then just tell them everyone thinks u look good.
