sometimes i don't think things through so i just fall for it and don't realize the person online is being sarcastic. but most of the time i do realize it's sarcastic and at times i'm sarcastic too. like someone else said, online it's helpful to add a smiley to show that that you are being sarcastic.

i think that sometimes when you have to point out the sarcasm to someone (using "" or smiles or bolding) it loses the original intent of the sarcasm

i know when people are sarcastic, im a sarcastic person myself. but i love to just be a jerk about it and give them a hard time...when i just dont find it funny, by taking it "seriously"
also id like to edit this... i find that alot of people who who dont understand sarcasm often think that every one besides themselves are stupid/weird/eccentric/abnormal, just because they will actually believe you if they ask an ironically stupid question such as "are you racist" and you are like "yeah, i hate mexicans" and then they lapse into some huge speech about how ignorant you are. |

There are so many times that people just do not understand sarcasam! I finally just got so fed up that I now put sarcasam marks around my statements. like this "I don't get this Topic*Note sarcasam in the last statement*" Some people are just so braindead at times that they just miss everything, so sometimes you have to lay it out for them.
