YES AP biology SUCKS!!! I love my AP English though (I'm in english 10) because my teacher is GREAT! She is the most perverted teacher ever and its really funny, and she also gives us the funnest projects :-D! AP s.s is just plain HORRIBLE! So much work! Honors (haha my lowest course...not rubbing it in cause I'm failing everything :-P) Geometry is just plain useless...

The AP classes I"m taking are:
  • AP English
  • AP US History
  • AP Calculus AB
  • AP Biology
AP Biology is NOT hard, if your teacher can teach well enough to get you to fully understand what he's talking about. The book we're using is really Biochemistry, even though it says Biology on it. I do the study guides my teacher gives us, so I understand what's going on half of the time. The other half i'm somewhat clueless. The tests he gives us are extremely hard. We sort of cheat.. whistling.gif Well, we'd do the test and share answers haha. My bf and I sit next to each other. He's really good at guessing and helps me out. But besides the test, I usually do the work in the class, so I'm able to better grasp the information and maybe even remember it when I take the AP test. But I'd have to say that ap calculus is my hardest class right now.

AP Biology... if you READ THE BOOK, you'd probably understand better. Also, if you don't know what some of the terms mean, you should keep a vocabulary list, or look it up in the dictionary (online). It'll help you in the long run.

I took honor classes last year. Honors doesn't boost up our GPA, so.. stubborn.gif

I'm taking...

Honors English 1
Honors Science Survey...although I'm suppose to be in Bio-Med _dry.gif
And next semester I'm taking Honors World History

Hahah, I'm also suppose to be in Geometery this year. But the teacher I had in 8th grade for Algebra didn't really teach us anything...so bleh..that was a waste of my time. Although I did end up with an A at the end on the year....but that was when I actaully started to understand it. So I'm retaking algebra again...which is so easy now... pinch.gif

We don't call any of our classes "AP."

Well, I'm in 7th grade, so.. yeah.

But, I'm in advanced middle school classes if that counts. =S

Well, I'm in AP Biology, AP Spanish and AP US.
and out of those 3, I think AP Bio is the hardest, and the one i'm doing the worst in. My teacher is ok, but the tests are really hard. I kinda understand what is going on though, but the tests are killing my average. But, AP Spanish is easy, because my teacher is good and really nice too. AP US is also pretty good. but AP Bio, grrr.

.. Then why are you taking the classes? Just for a big boost in your GPA? Neglecting your homework and classwork has already resulted in your failure for that class... So what was the point in taking it? And I can't exactly find the post that uninspiredfae posted, but she said something along the lines of (which I'm paraphrasing) "Why bother taking an AP class when you can take a regular class and get a better grade?" What was the point in taking the AP class if you're too lazy?

Sure it's hectic to have so many AP classes and so much homework, but you should manage your time wisely. You shouldn't known better than to take so many, especially AP Biology. And I have 4 AP classes (there's 6 periods a day for my school), but I still manage to pull through with A's. It's just a matter of managing your time, not procrastinating, and most of all, actually TRYING to do the work, even if it may seem impossible. And don't forget to actually read some of the stuff.

There's people I know who have neither read their (text)books nor done the work -- they just copy the whole way through. They'll be screwed when they get into college. You're only hurting yourself by higher-level classes and failing them. You DO REALIZE that AP classes are college courses. And if you can't even handle them now, then you might not even make it through college.

EDIT: And I DO have a life. I am just able to get through the classes and able to do the work. When you're asked to read a book for class and given two weeks, don't go reading the book the night before or go on sparknotes and not read the book at all.. It won't help you in the longrun. MANGE YOUR TIME. Yes, I do procrastinate.
