To those of the people who have used both illustrator and adobe photoshop... what's the differences between the pen tool in photoshop and illustrator? Because i am beginning to experiment with vectoring and i downloaded the tryout version of illustrator and it's pretty good. But it's going to expire soon so i might consider asking my friend for her photoshop.. cuz i know that there'a pen tool there too, so my question is, what's different?

b/c the pen tool in photoshop sucks, and people use illustrator b/c thats one of the programs to to make a "real vector", if you make a 'vector' in photoshop its now called a vexel.

QUOTE b/c the pen tool in photoshop sucks, and people use illustrator b/c thats one of the programs to to make a "real vector", if you make a 'vector' in photoshop its now called a vexel. so, when you say that the pen tool in photoshop sucks, do you mean that it's different from the one in illustrator or it just can't do the curves or something? |

I don't know, but I think the pen tools are slightly different...I haven't tried Illustrator yet, but I've tried PSP and the pen tool is different from Photoshop's. Photoshop's pen tool sucks. It's really hard to work with, but PSP's was easier (at least for me).
I dunno, you could try asking someone who uses Illustrator why they like it more than Photoshop. |

QUOTE(mirage @ Jan 2 2005, 4:34 PM) so, when you say that the pen tool in photoshop sucks, do you mean that it's different from the one in illustrator or it just can't do the curves or something? I think it's because you can use a lot more illustrating options on Illustrator. And Illustrator is for making vectors and Photoshop is for making vexels. You can also make drawings on Illustrator but I don't really know how.. I had Illustrator for awhile, but I didn't like it so I deleted it |
