the essense of giving birth is not taking a life... it's giving one.
after a woman gives birth, she has years of joy. after a man comes home from war, his girlfriend's left him, he might be disabled, and he might commit suicide or go crazy. |

My teacher told me giving birth the most painfulest thing a person can go through. He had head surgery and the nurse asked him, on a scale 1-10 how painful do you feel? He said 8...she said well a woman giving birth would be 10. ehh i can't remember the story right. But IMO giving birth is better than going to war because giving birth you are giving life going to war you are taking life.

QUOTE(remini @ Dec 13 2004, 8:13 PM) Going to war means killing people to save others. And giving birth means giving life, even if it means sacrificing your own. So either way, in that context, they're kind of the same. agree! giving birth and going to war may risk life but that thing are suppose to be. Life risk death. But risk must be taken because the greatest hazzard in life is risking-and reaching for-another life. |

I think it would be worse going to war. When a woman has a baby, sure it is painful and emotional, but she is giving birth to her child and she is happy when it is over with. When you go to war...it leaves emotional scars when u see ppl being shot around u...you make friends with these ppl that are serving the country with you, n the next day they get shot infront of you, and they could die in your arms, plus you are killing other men that are just trying to serve their own country and have their wife and kids at home, and u know your the reason for the kids to grow up without a father, and war affects the entire country, and kills so many ppl, and hurts so many ppls familys in the end. war is worse then childbirth

I guess maybe going to war, because the events that will happen will be sort of unexpected.
I mean, yeah. You're trained and stuff.. but do you know exactly when something bad is going to happen? Do you know if you're going to be injured ahead of time? Do you know if a friend will be injured ahead of time? No, you basically don't. With birth, you basically know what you're getting into. I mean, yeah. It could be stillborn and you basically know it's going to hurt a lot.. but it's not as unexpected. People don't die from giving birth barely at all anymore, so that's not a big worry. I'd have to say going to war is worse, overall. |

QUOTE(ryfitaDF @ Nov 24 2004, 10:41 AM) Thats a pretty ignorant comment considering America was founded on War and without it there would be no America as we know it today. Some of our great heroes were war veterans. George Washington and U.S. Grant becoming future presidents. Are they ignorant for being in war? Are they ignorant for fighting for a race's safety and fair treatment --slavery. Also to person who said getting you head shot off is really painful, its really not. If youre head is severed with one blow you wouldnt feel a thing. |

America only had one justified war -- the Revolution, where less than 5,000 people died. War is a product of ignorance nine times out of ten and desparation the other one time.
You can argue with me about the Civil War all you want, we should have let the South go... slavery would have been abolished in the South because of economic currents, and if you read the South's Constitution, they had many valid arguments and their constitution actually weakened the status of slavery by disallowing reimportation. |

the revolution wasn't even justified...
they gave us what we wanted, and we still went to war. |

War is worse. Not only is the person dead / hurt; so is the family&friends. When you are giving birth; only you feel the pain. But all that pain is worth it in the end. But in war; the Family&friends are hurt&they'll feel that pain for the rest of their lives.

I think i'd rather give birth.... and then 18 years later tell my daughter not to have kids, and send her to war because it is less painful.

i think going to war is worse. imagine how many more people die in war. giving birth to a stillborn is only the loss of one life compared the hundreds of thousands of people who suffer in war.

What if there was a pregnant woman in the place where the war was being fought? She's giving birth while grenades and such are being blown just a mile or so away... that would suck. |
