I think what he meant to say is not tragic, but... heartwrenching perhaps?
And I agree with mostly everyone else. All death is tragic and heartwrenching but I'd have to say that the SE Asia disaster pretty much tops it. Sure, the troops dying in Iraq deserve a mention, but its war out there and people die in wars. A natural disaster is uncalled for and unexpected. So my heart goes out to them and all those affected by it. flowers.gif mellow.gif

everyone mourns the tsunami deaths.
but as i said before, since we cannot control nature, why don't we focus on deaths that we can prevent.. deaths due to starvation, child labor, insufficient health care, etc.

that's what makes it more tragic, that it couldn't be controlled.

No one's death is more tragic than another. Death is tragic and someone who is a football player who went to war and died doesn't make his death more tragic than someone who died in a tsunami or earthquake.

we have to talk about death...?

All death is tragic, we shouldn't quantify the measure of a person's death...
But the 100,000+ deaths in SE Asia is surely a tragedy...

Yea, I also agree. That was a huge tragedy... The worst this year. cry.gif
