I don't have racism at my school. It's really mixed but you mostly find Hispanics and African-Americans. I never really encountered someone as rude like that. But people were brought up like that. Obviously, their parents or family raised them like that, so it's really not entirely their fault. ermm.gif

QUOTE(__Nessa @ Dec 27 2004, 11:29 AM)
not really something to joke around with, people get offened but they dont say anything, make sure its cool with everyone

Well, those people need to suck it up. I and my friends joke around like that, and I hang out with all different kinds of people (black, white, Asian, Hispanic, people with diff. religions, diff. sexualities...) and we all will start joking and say, "Shut up you stupid cracker!" But we're just playing, and we know we are.

I don't see why people take races so seriously. Sure, it's fine to be proud that you're white, black, Hispanic, Asian, etc. But don't degrade someone else because they're not.

Wow, what a BITCH.

It's kinda like that at my school, my school is mostly black.. people are like, "oh, white girl tryin ta be hardcore. white ppl can be so gay." Hahaha, we get some pretty racist comments there. ;P But whatever... and about the ugly thing, if someone calls me ugly, I'm just like... "Yah, I can always get plastic surgery but you will be stupid for the rest of your sad life."

lols...our school has a total of 35 nationalities...so no real racism here...
as for the few racist people lurking around our school, they're usually on their own as a result of being so shallow...

Hmm these days. We don't have no racism. They actually want to be like Korean people or any other asian people. They say that our nationalities is very cool that they want to be like us, asians. That shows us that they want to be show friendlieness to us.

screw them. i hate people that are closed-minded and sheltered. they are so shallow that they try to bring other people down just to feel superior. let them be..they'll get theirs someday.

the minorities in my area are prolly mexicans. i live in an upper middle-class neighborhood, and most people have others do things for them. im not lyk that at all. i think its disgusting.

wow I am really sorry that happened to you. I can't imagine what that must have felt like..
there is really no racism at our school, because it's the most diverse..seriously. but other parts of where I live (Colorado), just small parts, there is racism going on.
It's just because of how people were raised..it's just sad.

I live in Hawaii, and where I go to school most of the population is Asian, followed by Hawaiians. Im white, and Ive experienced my share of racism. In Hawaii they call white people haole, and not too long ago my school had specific days called "Kill Haole day", and you can guess how many white kids came to school on those days. Its interesting that in Hawaiian, haole means foriegner(any one who isnt Hawaiian)but nowdays its only used for people who are white. But yeah, thats just my experiences with racism. Sometimes I get really depressed because of racism. Maybe Im just over sensative, but I still think it should stop. I doubt it ever will though ermm.gif ...

White supremacist ideals and racial polerization are the INEVITABLE consequences of an overwhelmingly anti-white and anti-Asian society. If you need proof, I can show you how white and Asian people are held to MUCH higher standards by workplaces, by colleges, and by society at large, than balcks and Hispanics, both statistically and otherwise.

Moreover, said ideals can be helpful in that they balance out the overwhelmingly discriminatory nature of mainstream society itself. Note I'm not saying that racists are good, but they are less bad than racist institutions.

You can say minorities "get hell" all the time, but when an African-American student ranked 30th in the class with no activities to speak of gets into MIT over your white salutorian with a 1560 SAT, then who "gets hell"?

That actually happened at my school, by the way.

Can you blame the Hawaiians? I mean, white people did kinda invade their land, destroy their customs, and make them work on sugar plantations...

I'd be kinda upset at white people if they did that to me too.

I support Hawaiian independence!

But is it fair to be upset with a person because they are the same color as some other person who had done something bad in the past? I think its only fair to be upset at the specific people who invaded, destroyed, etc.

I didnt invade Hawaii, I was born here...

There're a ton of nationalities in our school. Black, white, hispanic, South Asians, East/Southeast Asians, Europeans (I mean, really European..we had a foreign exchange student from Switzerland, it was awesome).

Everyone has their own group...so like, although we might be a minority statistically...we don't feel like one, because we know there're a lot of other people like us. I mean, I'm Indian...and although there were maybe seven or eight other indians in my middle school, my high school has a TON. A lot of Asians, too...

I don't think there's a lot of racisim in my high school. People either get along with each other, or just ignore each other.

It's stupid...but it's embedded into society...even if you don't see it in your school, it's happening somewhere in your society. The whole "I'm better than you" thing...can't be avoided, really.

I didn't say it was fair, I said it was understandable.

I don't think it's fair for people in college campus hate groups to publish anti-black newsletters either, but it is definitely understandable why they do this given the social climate in and around colleges and the greater society.
