At my school they're really a fad one. I wanted to get some to support cancer but I didn't want it after it became such a fad and only 20% of that money really goes to cancer.

What is Livestrong? Is it to support cancer? I've never heard of Livestrong bracelets before.

I don't think questions are getting answered, and I'm getting kinda mad that no one knows what Livetrongs and the other wristbands are about so here are my answers:
Yellow bands are official Livestrongs to support the Lance Armstrong Cancer Foundation. They're a dollar each at www.laf.org or www.wearyellow.com
Pink bands are for the Breast Cancer Foundation, and are a dollar (I think) at www.pinkmerchandise.com
Other bands come in green, a few different reds, light blue, dark blue, black, and light purple. NONE OF THESE are Livestrongs, but they support some other charity or awareness group, possibly for tobacco or another type of cancer.
Some people are out there reselling official bands for profit, or manufacturing fake bands. I don't know anyone here, but please do not buy these. If you buy any wristband second-hand, make sure that they are real, and make sure they are being sold at the original price. Sellers should not be making a profit, because all bands are for non-profit organizations.
This is really long, but one more thing: Even if you think it's just losers or popular kids getting the bands, or it's just a stupid trend, please remember that trend or not, it's supporting charity. If you don't want to look like a total poser, buy one but don't wear it. If you want one because you DO want to be like everyone else, well, that's a bad reason. All bands are for charity, and that's all that should matter. Thanks for listening!

Well it's more than the color...it's what each of them stands for when you buy them. It's not just a fashion statement, it's showing you pitched in for a good cause. I wanted to get a pink one for breast cancer.

i respect all you people out there that say its just for fashion.

but if you really think about it, if people are buying it for fashion to fit in, the money still goes to the funds.

the more popular it becomes, the better, whether for fashion or not, since there will be loads of money goin to the charity funds anyway.
