Evanescence, being corrupted

So, how is it like when it feels like your favorite band is slowly being corrupted by mainstream?
It feels like crap. I used to listen to Evanescence from a LONG time ago, and now, ever since my immortal, i see it going mainstream, and not only that, the preppy people are crowding to it like glue.
I've also noticed that there is like, what, 5 or 6 Evanescence skins? Quite a bit for just one band.
Eh, also, I HATE, absolutely HATE, how these people that are just approaching their music because of its mainstream factor are like OmGZORsZ I ToTalIYZ LoVeSZ <3333333333333333333333333333333333333333333 TheMSZ.
Yes, that pisses me off so badly, mainly because these people don't know what Evanescence is truly singing about and are just listening to it because its a newer mainstream band. No, I'm not talking about new people that actually understand what their music is about, either.
I see how this can benefit the band and make them more money, but I know that its heart-breaking for many of the old fans to see their favorite music being corrupted.

me too. i used to be like that towards the starting of good charlotte's success. i got annoyed of those people who started liking gc and blah blah

AHH! I hate that. *Cough Atreyu cough* Or Sugarcult. No, that's not even the case here. See, MTV effing uses their music in the background of that stupid "Laguna Beach" show and don't even give credit to them by playing their videos! Oh, sorry they're not "hot" enough or something. Dude. It's all MTV. *Bombs MTV* I hate them with a flaming passion. Or Taking Back Sunday! NO ONE listened to them before. stubborn.gif That makes me angry.

i dont care if an artist is mainstream or underground as long is they make good music. if an artist manages to make good music and sell records at the same time, then thats good for them

I know. The fact that people play music just because it sounds good pisses me off too. Actually, I am a sort of new follower of Evanescence, but I do listen deeply to the meaning of their songs.

ah, yes, they do change quite a bit

and im selfish as well

I liked Atreyu x_X;. i've never seen them on MTV.

ive never seen them on mtv either o.o

hmmm but their definately on the track to mainstream

ill try to keep my two other favorite bands out of mainstream haha

MTV Hits - that video channel that plays music videos 24/7. Yeah. It'll soon be on regular MTV - don't fret. I've seen "Right Side of the Bed" on there.

omfg that pissed me off. the whole taking back sunday thing, i was just GAHHH! tbs is all over mtv and fuse.

I don't know what you meant by mainstream, but if you meant like people listen to it cause of the beat of the song? well if you meant that way---I think that's dope? I mean her lyrics has so many meanings but not many people are listening to her words, they're just listening to the beat??? eh i don't know if I'm saying this right but yeah...
