I'm surprised I haven't posted here

Windows XP Home x2
Windows XP Pro x1

XP Home:
VPR Matrix 2000
Pentium 4 2.0ghz w/ 400mhz FSB
512mb DDR 2100 ram (2x256 Samsung 2100 ddrram)
240gb Harddrive (2x120gb Western Digital w/ 8mb cache)
Geforce2 mx 400 w/ 64mb memory OCed for improved performance.
24x CD-RW
16x DVD-Rom
19" Liquid Video LCD

Compaq Presario Notebook 2199us
AMD Athlon XP-M 2800+
512mb DDR 2100 ram (2x256 2100 ddrram)
40gb 4,200rpm Harddrive
ATI IGP 320 or 720 not sure <--Totally sucks
24x CD-RW/8x DVD-Rom <--combo drive
15" LCD

Windows XP Pro:
Dell Dimension 2400
Pentium 4 2.53ghz w/ 533mhz FSB
1gb DDR 2700 Ram (2x 512mb 2700 DDRram)
320gb Harddrive (1x 120gb Western Digital w/ 8mb Cache & 1x 200gb Western Digital w/ 8mb Cache)
Visiontek Radeon 9200se w/ 128mb memory OCed for improved performance.
4x DVD+-RW
48x CD-RW
Dual 17" Samsung SyncMaster 171v LCD and 19" Samsung 955DF CRT with DynaFlat

So I'll be voting for Windows XP Home though on my really old computer I've installed XP Pro a couple of times.

Really old "Quantex"
Pentium II 233mhz
96mb Ram (1x 64mb, 1x 32mb)
8.8 gb Harddrive (2x 4.4 gb Harddrives, one Western Digital, one IBM)
Random 8mb Graphics card
CD-Rom
MAG 17" CRT

And I'll hopefully be getting a server soon on which I will install Windows Server 2003.

Dell Precision 420sc
2.8ghz Pentium 4 w/ 800mhz FSB and HT-Technology
1gb non-ECC Ram
Some amount of Harddrive space but at least 80gb
ATI Radeon x300 or maybe x600.
CD-Rom
Then whatever monitor I feel like hooking up to it.

Winxp Pro.

AMD Athlon XP
2.8 GHz?
1 GB RAM
190.6 GB HD
DVD-RW
Radeon 9600 XT

huh.gif

Wait, wha?!? How's your AMD Athlon XP running at 2.8ghz or is it a 2800+ because there'a huge difference there. Unless of course you have it overclocked to 2.8ghz which is a pretty big jump.

It's about time I get a new computer. I'll probably build it.

I'm thinking about:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
512mb OR 1,024 ddr sdram
80 gig HD
Motherboard with HyperTransport/1600MHZ FSB
Dual Layer dvd burner
uhh...
xp pro.. or home..

There's almost no difference between the two. At least not that the average consumer would notice. I have both and I haven't really felt that there was any difference between the two.

Oh and I have Windows Server 2003 enterprise edition, my dad won it at Oracle Openworld, that I'll be installing on one of my comps once I get a new one so I can have a file/print server and also a server for a webpage and games and what not.
