but i say i get my images from google. because you do get them through the search. even if they didnt originate there, i dont pay attention to where they actually come from. if i were to, i could say i get my images from any one of a million random websites, and that would be ridiculous. thus, i recognize the indirect source. im not going to say that google made the images, but really, thats how i found them

Yea, I concur. I get ALOT of the images I use through google.

But you see, the images that I do find (pertaining to a layout that I would make) is mostly found from a site OFFERING those images. Such as "IMAGES FOR BLAH BLAH BLAH ANIME!" or big red letters. yes, in one of the sites, BIG RED LETTERS. But I know that most people get their images from using google to search for them, anyway. MOST, not all.

But sometimes, it annoys me if they do say "oh yea i got it from google." If they were going to cite where they got it from, at least give a website.

But then again, most of the time I realize that all the places that I've gotten pictures from, have gotten pictures from other sources, since I often find blurry, low-quality pictures on a few sites that contain pictures of whatever I'm searching for on Google images. And I even find sites that have the original pictures, yet they do not say that they took it from blah blah or from blah blah. So, in my opinion, a great many of the sites tend to take pictures from another source(s) and claim it as their own, so you can't exactly stop people from stealing and editing and not giving credit...

yes, i definitely agree in that case. i would never credit my images through google, but when asked, i was say thats how i found them. besides which, if they made their images available on google search to begin with, then chances are good that they expect people to not credit the images, becuase not everyone thinks its important

I suggest you reread this entire thread, meaning you should read all the posts first... I didn't fully understand what she was talking about at first, but upon reading the rest of the replies, my question was answered.

She wasn't talking about that you shouldn't google up images... But that people would randomly cite under a layout that they made, that "0l-l 5l-l137, 1 G07 |V|`/ |>1X 4|V| G00gL3!" aka "Oh shiet I got my pix 4m google!" or something. It's like, no s**t sherlock, I get my pictures from google too. You know what I mean?
