I go to a pretty small highschool in a pretty small town so this was big news and all...

A junior committed suicide. Apparently he'd been into drugs and his girlfriend had just broken up with him. It was so sad at school... they had a moment of silence for him insted of the begining of tha day anouncements. The halls were quiet all day and people just cried... even people that didn't know the kid. We didn't do anything in most of our classes.

I find it ironic how by putting himself out of pain he put so many people in so much pain.

But this makes me mad... kids that didn't know the kid and really didn't care took advantage of the administration letting kids sign out. I just think that's really disrespectful to the kid and his family.

So... have you ever dealt with something like this? Have you ever had suicidal thoughts? What do you think about the kids taking advantage of it?

suicide is so stupid, if you have any compassion at all you can take the pain for the ones you love
as for the kids taking advantage of it, they're stupid too *gets all depressed*

I will admit I have thought of suicidal thoughts before, but then I think it's stupid of me because not only does it hurt people, it's selfish of you to do such a thing like that.

Kids taking advantage? Iono, it's kinda of rude, but then again, iono...

The way I think of it, it's kinda the kid who committed suicide fault..because well just because your problems are really bad, that doesn't automatically mean you have to commit suicide. They are not the only one who goes through breakups and stuff. Their just weak.

I've thougha bout suicide before.. but I never really cut myself or anything close to hurting myself purposely. I've never known anyone personally who's committed suicide. But my friend's aunt (I believe) has committed suicide...
I wrote this in the thread http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=49995
QUOTE(Just_Dream @ Dec 9 2004, 11:00 PM)
I don't know anyone who's ever committed suicide, nor have I ever heard about anyone that went to my school that has. But a cool friend of mines's aunt (I believe), committed suicide. I believe she was a single mom, it hard to remember... But when he talked about this in class, when we had a debate... it was terrible. A girl went outside to get some air as tears went down her face, as my friend (who is a guy) told about his aunt.

In my opinion, I think that those who committed suicide didn't realize how big an impact they had on other's lives. No matter what, there will be people out there that care about them, that are affected. Even if everything seems to go all wrong and you just want to die, thinking no one cares, but there really are people who care about you.

My friend's aunt had children.. and he told the class "She just killed herself.. She was so selfish.. I mean, she didn't even think about her CHILDREN!" He said something like that, I'm just paraphrasing. I mean, I know that if I killed myself, I would be getting rid of all my grief, but also, I would hurt the ones I love the most. My boyfriend, whom I've given so much of my love to, would be sad... I know that if he died, I would be in a melancholy state for the rest of my life. And my mother, who's depended on me so much, and I've depended on her so much; I'm helping her now around the house and I want to take care of her in the future, and she's taken care of me since I was a baby. I might even affect my friend's lives because usually I'm a happy person around them.

Even if people act as if they are truly happy, deep down, there MIGHT be a flaw in their happiness. They might be depressed deep down and they might put on a mask to hide their depression and/or adversity.

It's terrible that anyone would commit suicide.. I don't fully blame suicidals for how much they've affected others; things just didn't turn out the way they wanted and they just couldn't handle it... It's traumatic.  cry.gif

But it's *bleep*ing rude that they would take advantage of that... Suicide is not something that happens to OTHER people or in the movies.. it's real life and it's big issue to many people, if not all.

A kid from our grade died 2 years ago...
from pnemonia (sp?)
But I didn't really know him...
and not a lot of people did... but I still feel bad... cause he was only 11 at the time.

And I admit, I have thought about suicide before. But not that I'm gonna attempt it..

Yeah. I agree with most of you but I'd like to add this:
Stress leads to depression, depression leads to suicide. It's not like a person is just weak and selfish... they're not really thinking straight. Depression is an illness. I believe he was also on heroine or something... so that probably had a big part in it too. You're especially not thinknig straight when you're dealing with drugs and an addiction.

Suicide is a permantent solition to a temorary problem. And you wouldn't believe the amount of people that really care about you and would cry for you if you did do something like that. You're releasing your pain but causing so much more pain for anyone even remotely related to you or your life.

Depresion can be triggered by an event, or just happen. So if you're having suicidal thoughts you have to realize you're not yourself and seek help.

(This is according to rumor since only the police and school superintendant were there when they first found him) The kid went to the frontdoors of school in the middle of the night. He took off his coat and neatly folded it. He wrote "I'm sorry" in the dirt with a stick. And shot himself in the stomache/head. It varies from story to story where he really shot himself.

hm i dont know if i should call it a suicidal but this old man that was like 70 years old want to commit suicide by crashing to a car next to our school. he was also very drunk too and there was this 2 elementary students walking to their schools. that time i was in 8th grade. and the old man hit the 2 students. 1 student died, but the other one survived. the old man survived and was put into the prison. so yeah we had a moment of silence...ehhh my class was silent but they were making fun of each other and making these noises that made me laugh too... i dont know y i didnt care.. i felt like this story was fake. ehh im bad at crying for someone who died and also i didnt know that person and died...heh if it's one of my friends..yeah i would cry and be sad...well actually not cry, just sad.
