Utada's Exodus CD is hecka hard to find, i understand. I had it the 2nd day it was out.

Thats true about Jin though. 1st week on the billboard charts was like 50. then he made 110 by the second week. recent rank is 100. hecka ppl bak here like jin, but imma leave my opinion about Jin opinonless, b/c Im not much of a fan of Jin.

Well Utada is kinda iffy right now. I didn't really like her single, Easy Breezy. But her english is better than Boa's. I also think that Taebin should debut in America, since he speaks more English than Korean. Never heard of Adrieanne or w/e her name is. There are a ton of underground asian bands/singers/rappers that haven't signed with big record companies. I want to see them make it big.

I think eventually more and more Asian singers will get into the industry...it'll just take time. People still need to accept them (as you can see from the lack of Asians on TV).

the only people who notice it are the people who like them. my little lover came to the us a few years back. various jrock folks have come. b'z came and sold out. it doesn't really mean anything. i think the ones who have really made it are *gasp* puffy, which some of you new to jpop might know as puffyamiyumi go go whatever they're called nowadays. utada's promotional efforts were disappointing. sure she got opportunities, but then what has she been up to since?

and you're right, it's pretty much due to racism in my opinion. and i'm not just angry or anything cos i'm actually black. but i've listened to jpop and jrock forever and some pretty decent acts have come over that i could easily compare to american ones, but they don't do so well unless they go through the anime/kids circuit. it's not fair, but over time things do progress and change...so maybe there will be one yet.

Yes true, and in J-rock too. Alot of the band's vocalist are quite highpitched, and although they are really good, it is too high pitched compared to most American bands. Same with Jpop. They are more into the Cutsey high pitched singing, rather than the deep, full sounding vocals of most GOOD american singers.
