I've read a lot about more Asians debuting in America's music. I'm just wondering what you think.
First, there was Utada (she sold an album that was supposed to be released in the US but was released in Japan instead), wit her US debut 2 months ago Exodus. Then there was Jin, first Asian rapper to make mainstream hip-hop. There is also another Asian singer from Hong Kong who will release her single Hypnotic Love in the US around January. She's working wit Jin, I read from here. Her name is Adrienne Lau (Adrienne). Shes actually kinda good. Her site Her site is right there. I know of the Mountian Brothers (3 chinese rappers) from the Northeast area of the US. So what you think? |

well..im from singapore..n we juz had our 1st singapore idol..we really hope he would make it big in e west n all..but..most of e time..not many asians make it big...so i think it's really a pity if they've really got talent..but juz cant sell as much as western or europe singers..yepz..so..i would really hope asian singers would make it big sumday..haha..ritez..bye..

jin flopped... he only pushed like 60k... he prolly wont release another album until like 2010 mountain boys arent mainstream never heard of the 2 singers |

adrienne isn't that pretty.
 there's also masia one, but i think she's only released in Canada. but anywho. adrienne is kinda slutty *whore* lol~ i'm asian but i guess because im born and raised in canada, but like... it's kinda weird seeing an asian dressing in revealing clothes. it doesnt go you know what i mean?

Did adrienne lau started her industry in hong kong... probably not, Ccz i personally never heard of her and i am from hong kong, and when i search her name in yahoo hong kong, all the sites that came out are in english... which mean no hong kong sites ever even did any site about her... Her songs seems pretty good, kinda weird that she isn't that hit in mainland hong kong.

Well, she was offered a deal from the US by a recording company (forgot when, but it wasnt recent), but she didnt wanna dominate the US. Utada's Exodus CD is hecka hard to find, i understand. I had it the 2nd day it was out. Thats true about Jin though. 1st week on the billboard charts was like 50. then he made 110 by the second week. recent rank is 100. hecka ppl bak here like jin, but imma leave my opinion about Jin opinonless, b/c Im not much of a fan of Jin. |

Eh not really. It's nothing like the Latin invasion that swooped the country a couple years ago. The only people that know about these singers are Asian folks themselves... a far cry from an "invasion".

I had no idea this Boa person existed until I came here. I've never seen these people on MTV. Once I see MTV, I'd say they've hit it big. I mean, like Roxanne said...this isn't like how Ricky Martin, Shakira, and Enrique Englasias (spelling?) were big. That was an invasion. |

i don't think asian artists will last in the US music industry. Americans don't accept asian singers somehow (not inferring americans are racists). Look at CoCo Lee...she's an awesome singer. Her english is perfect and so is her chinese...and what happened to her? i don't even know. But then again it might be just the producers who have no interest or the style of the singer is an unpopular genre to american ears.

Who the eff is Adrienne Lau? She must not have enough money for a web designer - her site looks like crap.
 ^ I came across this on her site. It looks like she has a...penis...=\ I think eventually more and more Asian singers will get into the industry...it'll just take time. People still need to accept them (as you can see from the lack of Asians on TV). |
