LOL...yeah. I heard UCSD is rising higher than UCLA's standards now. Jeez. That'll make it really hard to get in. wacko.gif

Hopefully I'll make it laugh.gif

lol You probably will, if you have good grades, even if you didn't get straight A's all the time or anything. As long as you have a good resume, application, etc. And all the requirements.

Hey, my sister got in UCSD. She's smart I guess, but not extremely smart as others I know of. So maybe we have a chance if my sister got it lol =X

yeah...I'm seriously starting to hate my APUSH class though. My teacher's really hard on all of us because she's the IB coordinator... ermm.gif

Besides that, I'm pretty much set with my grades...an extra curricular activities are set too. I'm the secretary of our Madrigals choir, so hopefully that looks good.

I can't wait til this year is over though...I can coast through senior year...I hope. My parents will probably push me to take 3-4 AP classes though lol~

Plus. Congrats for your sister, even though it's long overdue biggrin.gif My cousin went to UCSD and is an OBGYN right now...she's married to a lawyer (attorney in law I think), and they're hecka rich blink.gif

Well... I took the old SATs last Saturday and this Saturday I'm taking the new PSATs >.<. I heard that 2006 HS graduadates could use the old SATs scores, so hopefully they turn out really good and I don't have to worry about the new ones. If not then I'll be taking SAT prep this spring =_=.

Right now I'm taking:
Electronics
Alg II Trig (Sci&Tech= Honors basically)
Physics (Sci&Tech)
Photography
Arch/Eng Drafting
AP English
Drama 1
US History(Honors)

Yea.. I go to a scince and techonology school and I'm on teh engineering track.

I plan on doing something like graphic design when I get to college though :D.

UCSD standards may be rising... but you still have a better chance of getting into UCSD compared to UCLA.
Our councelling department handed out all juniors the UC handbook basically has statistics and info about the UC.
I checked it out... and damn... To even have a chance in UCLA or UCSD u need atleast a 4.0 GPA. In UCLA if u have a 4.0gpa and above ur chances of getting in is still under 49%
UCs are great and all but admission is ridiculous I think. The only UC that im sure will accept anyone is UC Merced... HAH we'd be the third class to enter their doors. But then again they offer wut? 3 majors?
UCSD u got a good chance of getting in as long as ur gpa is 4.0 and above.
I remember last year, 10 of my school's seniors had the 4.6 as their GPA. And our school is no easy school, which takes pride and discipline to each class. So that GPA was earned. Only like 2 got into UCLA. UCLA sucks, thats why I root for USC!

Yeah that's some crazy stuff. The absolute minimum for the GPA is 3.8, and they STILL don't really accept people around that GPA level. I swear, if that APUSH class just rose to a freakin A or B...*starts yelling incoherent korean words*

It's pretty crazy to try and get into a UC school...UCSD is my dream school tho~ If I don't make it, I'll prolly go to like...UCI, UCR, or a Cal State school. at least the CSU system makes it easier for students to get a 4 year college program in...goodness...But then again, the UC school supposedly filters out the dedicated/hard-working/4.0+ GPA achieving students from the slacking/nearly to the bare minimum/and the procrastinating bunch...

*sigh* wacko.gif

UC filter out? I doubt it... With all these applicants on UC its seems like their admissions is quite... random. Getting into UC i hear is easier if ur parents are generous and donating alot to the school (thousands $$ maybe) and have some good contacts. UCI and UCR... for sure youd get accepted there. I Wouldn't mind UCI though, the area is very nice! The OC marathon i just ran passed by UCI also nice area. But not much Engineering programs in UCI so not a good choice for me. CSU seems like a better choice for me if i dont get to ucsb or ucsd.

But I just have to vent right now. I HATE THE COLLEGE BOARD!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH

LOL well then again. if you have money, you can do practically anything. It sounds superficial in a way, but it's true.

College board = pure evil hammer.gif

but it's okay, we'll get over it eventually console.gif

HEY HEY HEY.. Just because us San Diegans like parties and whatnot.. doesn't mean we party that much... lol. Actually, there are parties and all, but there's alot of hard working students at ucsd. I'll see you two at UCSD in two years then wink.gif

And to justsomeboi - Actually, it's not that hard. I started copying outlines from the internet.. ph34r.gif whistling.gif haha But I mean, id on't read that much. Sometimes I do. My book is called Inventing America. If you want to see it, go to this website: http://www.wwnorton.com/inventing and yea. And I guess alot in that class. My teacher asks the class questions, like orally, and then people raise their hand and answer. I participate alot, so my grade is secured as an A. Before, I used to spend 8+ hours doing the outline/notes along with reading the chapter, and I still forgot the stuff I read. My bf is really good in history, I'm not haha, I'm good in math. The last test for APUSH that we took, my bf got an 87%: THE HIGHEST score on the test! And I thought the smarter people who participated alot would get 100%, guess not. mellow.gif

haha internet outlines are the best! To tell you the truth our class isnt hard. Basically its all lecture. What is hard is the requirement to read a designated 400pg book per month with a book report. Add to that the tests. Their soo tiring. Theres more questions than possibly can answer but only like 80-90% of the test is actually counted. So theres two kinds of people in my class or well u could say three. The people who do very well and get over 100%, the people who fail really bad, then theres me who happens to always be in the middle... well not middle but not an A+ but like an B+/A- or something.
Get that REA APUSH book im sure itll help all of you to get atleast a 3 or 4 on the AP exam!

i know, im very scared. but see, i have a plan. i have a friends in my grade who somehow managed to advance enough that theyre in ap calc now (dont even know how that happened. damn all these genious kids i hang out with) so ill just get them to help me out. and one of them is moving to mississippi, so i can call her up, get her to give me the answers, and have no regrets about cheating (not that i do anyway...anyone care to take my take home chem test for me? even with my book and my notes, im still going to fail....)
