Well, my first reason was "Canada's close." Which is true, because people don't want to be far away from the family and relatives, no?

No, they wouldn't. But if that's the case for choosing Canada then why choose it at all? If they really cared they wouldn't leave in the first place. As far as I'm concern those people who said that they're moving were lying because I don't see any mass immigration to Canada.

Were you referring to my outburst? No offense, I didn't feel that was an outburst. It was just my opinion.  That's how I feel about Canada, coming from someone who lives in Canada. blink.gif idk.

No, I wasn't refering to yours. I was refering to people who says "I'm seriously moving to Canada if Bush wins the election". Like I said, if that was meant to poke fun, then that's fine, but there were too many people who convinced me of their seriousness.

Not that I don't agree with that. I do think that most of the people who are saying these things are lying. I was just giving my own, more practical reasons to try to explain something...that won't happen.

^ Did that make any sense? Meh.

The best way to answer this question is that most people are joking/lying.

I saw the news like 2 days after the election. A good handful of americans do move after every election. This election however, has more americans moving to canada than "usual". Personally I think if you truly are an american, you wouldn't turn your back just because of an election that didn't go your way. Why Canada? I don't know? Free health insurance and spacious? lol

I met over 6 families who immigrated to Cananda and came back. There was one Canadian couple I've talked to who have been trying to attain American citizenship for a long while now.

Every country has it appeals, I suppose, but the majority of the people who claimed they will move are liars.

It does boggle the mind.
